The £300 was for three men and 2 vans.
Thanks, I'll use that as my estimate for now then until I get to the stage of needing quotes.

It won't be - you'll downsize after the kids go.
I'm not sure....it's on a fairly quiet street, near to the town centre, and it's still quite a small house, so I think we could stay there well into retirement.....while we both still have all our faculties at least. But yes, I hadn't really thought about the option of downsizing again at some point (oooh, we would have money!! :D).

El - no hun, it was can't pay off the car loan... :o:o We will have to put up with it for a couple more years, but it's only £76 a month, and on a low apr (6.1%) so I can live with that.

Zed - I know what you mean, but I meant forever in the non-literal sense (swerving....), in that we wouldn't NEED to move again, and also I don't think we would feel the urge to keep moving up the property ladder, because I'm not keen on big houses (too much cleaning, and also very eerie to have rooms that are rarely used, I think).

Like the dungeon with the pole and the whipping frame..?

It depends on the exact size of the house. You may need more room in future, depends on how your kids develop.

The £1k wouldn't be enough to repay the loan unfortunately (we took it over a long term, but with the intention of repaying it early, that's why the payments are low). But honestly, if you saw the bathroom, you would understand!! :)
