:rotfl: Yes, honestly, it's really snowing, and the wind is icy! We had to rescue our wheelie bin from halfway down the street, and the neighbours fence blew down in the night. I set off to walk up to town earlier, but the wind kept whipping the rain cover off the pram, and Natasha was screaming, so I had to turn back. Saying that, it IS looking nicer out there now....a bit.

Hi Bob! No, unfortunately it can't be repaired - there's a bit round the bottom where a....not sure what you would call it....thick string or thin rope....feeds through eyelets, and that's what holds it on. Thats the bit that has ripped off (it's come clean away from the rest of the cover, so no amount of tape or sewing will hold it back together securely. It's a folding camper though, not a 'proper' camper (like a soft top caravan, or souped-up trailer tent).

Thanks for the link Lyn, I'll have a look there. :)

Bit scared of leaving it without a cover because it looks so exposed!

    Hiya snaggles,

Could you not as a cheaper alternative by a heavy duty tarpaulin from a camping shop, by an eyelet kit from craft/sewing shops and make a DIY winter cover, the cord that is on it could be used to hold it on as is the right size already but would prob only cost about £50?

Good to hear all is ok, we had the wind here the other day, nasty!!!

    Big hugs

    Hi Snaggles

Sorry to hear about the camper van cover - it isn't *really* naked tho, honestly - its actually a motorised form of transport, honestly, it is.... are you identifying with your camper van Snaggles? Thats how cold it is, obviously, and poor little Natasha too!

The camper sounds lovely, actually - one of my fantasies is to rent the house out after I've renovated it, buy a nice camper van and tootle around the UK and Europe, doing nothing very much.

Have a windless day (love the childish snigger....)

Ah- my mate has one of them and, i now know what you mean- very expensive to buy and well worth keeping in good condition, so i think if you can do as Pania suggests, great- if not - and only because i love campers- then i defo would put it on credit card- runs off quick before other dfw's slap hands:D Bob!x

Ohh, do you fancy doing my washing too IA? :D

Pania - I did think about making one, but the problem is that where the camper stands is the WINDIEST corner of the whole country (seriously - the wind whips round the side of our house - it's like a wind tunnel). So anything that we put on the camper has to really fit properly, otherwise the wind will just get under it and rip it off (that's what happened to the old winter cover - it was slightly damaged already, so the wind could get underneath it).

I wish we COULD make an alternative one, because our B&Q is selling big tarpaulins for about £5!

OH MY GOD!!!!! Natasha just picked up my mobile phone, put it to her ear and said 'hiya'! :T

Hope things are better with Stu now ? Did you see my post about men needing their caves on Fri daily chat thread ? Catch up later XX El

:rotfl: KC, your post made me laugh so much!

It's not completely exposed, but it only has a little transit cover on it at the moment, which is fine for summer months, but if you keep it outside in winter months, it really needs a winter storage cover (to keep it warm and snug ;)).

At the moment it looks like this (except mine is green):

And it should look like this:
