Have I missed some new condition or something?

in Credit cards
I have a Lloyd's credit card, never use it to get cash, always pay the balance off every month well within the correct time limit.
I've never previously had to pay any interest. But on my August and September statements, I've been charged a small amount of interest (very trivial amounts - on the September statement it's one penny!).
But despite reading the small print, I don't understand what I'm being charged for, or why this has suddenly started when it's never happened before (I've had the card for years).
Has some condition changed, or some new regulation been brought in?

Any quasi cash transactions? Eg currency, gambling, forex etc?
If not, then give them a call.0 -
Definitely question it. But if you always pay off the full balance it makes sense to do it by DD, that way there's no chance of the payment ever being late by mistake.0

Check your July statement for any transactions such as the ones zx81 mentioned as you may be paying trailing interest.
If that is where it's started from then you should not ought to pay anymore interest now if it's been paid off in full for 2 months running.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Thanks for the suggestions.
I definitely don't use it for gambling, currency exchange, etc. It's mostly used for supermarket shopping, with occasional Amazon UK purchases. I'm really not doing anything with it that I haven't been doing for years!e cineribus resurgam("From the ashes I shall arise.")0 -
Can't think of anything other than above or inadvertently paid a few pence short on a statement?0

Again, thanks for the suggestion - but no, I've checked that possibility.e cineribus resurgam("From the ashes I shall arise.")0

Timing differences with due dates? Have you made payments before the due date that have only hit the statement afterwards?0
-
Nope! I always pay at the local branch, and well within the time limit.
But thanks for the suggestion

If you phone Lloyds they should be able to tell you straight away why you have paid interest - then you can tell us to stop us speculating further.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
