Ukcps - appeal unsuccessful

Sorry to repeat, but you ought to make your argument private and resolve it so newbies don't get confusing messages.
How does it help newbies to see you banging on about this?
CM doesn't post here often and newbies may mistakenly get the impression you are the professional dealing with PCNs here!
There are a number of respected contributors on here who differ from C-M on this point. They have posted exactly why, in their opinion, appealing to the IAS may not produce a cancelled ticket but would be extremely beneficial should the matter get to court, which, after all, is the only place that a motorist can be ordered to pay.
For my part, if I had the misfortune to be up in court on a parking charge, I would want all the moral highground and a typical IAS "unbiased" rejection in my bundle. There is no downside that I can see for appealing to IAS currently.
Whether that is still the case when they start working under IAD status, we wait to see.0 -

This is hardly rocket science, and CM does not hold a monopoly on common sense. This is a broad church and differences of opinion are, despite what you may think, allowed Quentin. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
So to confirm.
Next step:
Ignore for 6 years?
I'd probably rather pay than that, I thought there was a way this could go not involving that.
I haven't found all this bickering back & forth very helpful I might add. Lost faith in what I should be doing.0 -
By ignore for 6 years we mean they'll probably send a couple of months of letters and then do nothing. Their ability to pursue it further expire in 6 years (from the incident) at which point they can do nothing.
UKCPS don't really do court, so it's unlikely you'll hear anything from them once the threatograms run out.
But at this stage your options really are just "ignore" or "pay". If it were me, I'd ignore, but you're perfectly entitled to do either. Bear in mind that if it somehow does go to court, you won't have to pay significantly more than they are asking for now.0 -
you have to understand that this forum is overseen , not by professionals ... but by unpaid volunteers....
most of which have found themselves helping out on the forum after getting help here in the past ....
as such some times differences do emerge as to the best way forward.
the message as a whole is the same, just tactics differ ... If you have ever had the misfortune to have two or more solicitors giving advice then you would think that all this "bickering back & forth" is nothing more than a quiet chat
Only you can make the decision as to what to do ....... my suggestion is to look through a multitude of threads about people who have been in your place and have managed' to disregard the debtcrawlers ....
what ever you choose
good luck

With the misleading help from these forums, I have now received a letter from a Solicitors, stating that I now owe £275 due to my unpaid parking ticket. 100 for the fine, 25 for the admin, 150 for the legal costs. If I do not make payment within 14 days of the letter, they will take our clients instructions (UKCPS LTD) on how they wish to proceed which may include considering legal proceedings.
I initially read the Newbies thread, where it states do not ignore if in England, so I wrote a letter stating my reasons (with the help of the forum) and then recieved a rejection. This is now my latest letter I have received.
Any words of advice?
Thanks0 -
insulting those from whom you want help is probably a good way to startLeft is never right but I always am.0

Misleading help?
I bet you didnt get a "summons from a solicitors".
You may possibly have had a Letter Before Claim - how do deal with those is in the Newbies thread.
What is the name of the company that wrote to you?? It also depends on whether they are acting as "solicitors" or as "debt collectors" - the boundaries often get blurred by the scammers.0 -
Any words of advice?
Follow all of the advice in the newbies thread.
You can still defend and deal with this with minimal hassle though. First you need to establish if this is a real letter before claim or a debt collector.
From the £150 in costs, I'd bet it's gone to Miah Solicitors, who seem to be acting as a debt collector.0 -
For a start , it's not a "fine", it's an invoice.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
