    Hi guys

I'm a bit confused at to what you are proposing my next step is :-S

    Either: -
Appeal to IAS (if you can) then ignore for six years unless you get invited to court (unlikely)

    Or: -
Ignore for six years unless invited to court (unlikely)

Appealing costs the PPC money, so this would be my advice. Only you can decide.

Rhetorical answer, but it really does depend upon which Ministers and upon what subjects your advice was given. We've all seen 'Yes Minister'!

    1. Bilking
    2. VAT avoidance
    3. Fox control
    4. Night clubs of downtown Benidorm
    5. Foods of the world to accompany Blue Nun
    6. Bargains of the the week at Bright House

Seriously, I think immigration was one of his responsibilities - oh no, let's not go there!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

My advice as on the Newbies thread - DO NOT appeal to the IAS -and I'm not sure why you even appealed to UKCPS, I wouldn't have prodded them like that. Pointless exercise, don't compound it by handing them an IAS win on a plate.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I thought in the Newbies thread that appealing was the first thing to do, and now you say I shouldn't have done this. All a bit confusing.

    So to clarify:

Now, my only option is to Ignore unless taken to court?
  • Also very confusing when you say:

"and I'm not sure why you even appealed to UKCPS, I wouldn't have prodded them like that. Pointless exercise, don't compound it by handing them an IAS win on a plate."

but then in your summary at bottom of post:

"PCN in a private car park in England/Wales? DON'T PAY IT BUT DO NOT IGNORE IT"

I have written to surrounding shops etc then appealed... :-S

At the risk of going off-topic on both of the above points.... Why?

Why should they not appeal to the IAS? And why should they not have appealed to UKCPS?

CM, as you well know, an ISA win is a poison chalice for the PPC, and a get out of jail card for the parker.

Please amend you stickie to bring it into line with the current thinking on this board.

Sorry to repeat, but you ought to make your argument private and resolve it so newbies don't get confusing messages.

How does it help newbies to see you banging on about this?

CM doesn't post here often and newbies may mistakenly get the impression you are the professional dealing with PCNs here!
