The reason I ask is that 26" doesn't seem overly thin to me for a waist measurement, so I was wondering if the tape measure was encroaching on your hips a bit.
When I was in my twenties, my waist was 26" and that wasn't considered particularly thin, just normal. (The 'ideal' female statistics at the time were something like 36-24-36 in inches, although some sources said that the hips should be two inches larger than the bust. Which is why I was a Williams pear! :rotfl:)
You do mean inches, don't you?

A 26" waist is about a size 8 I think? It's what I used to be *sigh* Fo you mean your natural waist Melly? Just sort of underneath your rib cage area?
Sorry it's having to go to court tea, but it does sound like things are finally progressing, and police baby knows what he is talking about. But, if FOH is still incapable of realising what he is doing to you and not taking your feelings into account, I wouldn't put it past him to get in touch yet again.
Hope you had a nice relaxing, doughnut filled, Netflix filled day yesterday code!0 -

The current sizing numbers really annoy me!
When I had a 26" waist, in the 70s, I was a normal size 12!
During the 90s, and 00s, these sizings gradually changed! In the 70s and 80s, a size 8 was very, very small indeed, and not seen in the chain stores very often. The main sizes were 10, 12, and 14. A size 6 for an adult was unheard of.
We seemed to have switched to the American model.
Anyway, Melly, make sure the tape measure goes between the bottom of the ribcage and the top of the pelvis; it shouldn't be sitting over bone.(I just lurve spiders!)

The American model's changed as well - they've changed as we have hence the "size zero".
The standard or typical female body shape has changed since then as well#biologistatheart haha!

It's so confusing isn't it? I wish they had one standard sizing guide world wide so everyone knew where they were with it. Even shoe sizing differs in the States.
The first time I went to America I was a size 8 and I had to get either size 6 or sometimes size 4 clothing over there. I used to like shopping in Abercrombie and Fitch, but the biggest size they go up to is really still quite small. The time before last we went I had to get a size L running leggings and track top, and that is the biggest size they do I think, it probably equates to a size 12 (size 10 over there?)....I don't think I could shop there anymore, mainly because I'd probably struggle to fit into a lot of their things now. Which when you think of it is outrageous!0 -
Re Waist measurement I was 24 inch waist when I married my deceased first husband in 1969 and still am between 24 -25 inches . I am slim not skinny and inherited my dads genes . I think the whole food and nutrition thing was vastly different then .In general we ate three home cooked meals each day , we were very active and few people had cars . Food was looked upon as fuel to stay fit and healthy ,apart from our weekly pocket money which was spent in my case on books ,magazines , or the occasional 2 ounce bag of sweets treats were few and the concept of comfort food unheard of in our sphere .
It has been proved that during the second world war and the period following the nation was healthier than before or since . There was no internet , games etc . We all walked miles and I myself was a keen athlete .
My children were raised on healthy home cooked meals and one remarked recently they recall coca cola only being seen at home on Christmas day . All four including my son are excellent cooks and understand the importance of good nutrition .

Pyxis At least they did a size for you . It was decades before size 10 was introduced . My wedding dress had to be altered and jeans and skirts were always pulled in with a belt . One of the high spots of my life was when Next introduced size 6 and I could buy jeans and skirts that fitted .
I love Marti Pellow
