I wholeheartedly agree with tea about your holidays, pyxis. I love hearing about them.

code, many happy returns of the day.
I have a slight headache and sore throat. Hopefully it will ease as I go about my day.
Enjoy your ESA form - free day, WaS.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Happy birthday code!! :bdaycake:
Pyxis, you go on as many holidays as you can manage, life is for living and experiencing new things and places, so you go for it girl!
Yay to finishing the forms WaS! :j0 -
So where's the birthday girl, then?
Thanks for the ok on the holidays! I know it's daft! I guess the guilt is from the many years when I had very little money and so any sort of treat or day out or non-essential purchase had to be weighed up carefully and justified. And then I felt guilty about it!
I remember one time when I was was on benefits, many years ago, and I was standing at a bus stop with a grass verge next to it. I idly looked at the grass and suddenly saw a £1 coin! This was about 33 years ago when a £1 was worth more than today. I can still remember the utter thrill of finding the £1. It meant treats for the three of us that I didn't have to feel guilty about!
People keep telling me to do stuff while I am still fit enough to, as you never know what's round the corner. I must admit, the state my legs were in while in Sri Lanka brought that home to me. Aching and swelling in the humidity and my iffy knee hurting all the time. The months of illness and no exercise came to roost when I realised I was so unfit again, and so didn't dare attempt to climb the Sigiriya rock.
My big goal is to go to China, although I'd also love to see Japan, though the latter is really expensive. I must try to make China the goal for 2017, I think. There be pandas! So, I must get fit again!

Happy Birthday Code! Hope you enjoy your cake and take out!
Pyxis - no need to feel guilty! As long as you're not struggling to pay other bills etc in order to go on these holidays I think you're well within your rights to go away as much as you want to! I'm not surprised you want to go back, it looked amazing!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Have just spoken to police baby, partly in response to a panicked email I sent him this morning. After another night of freaking out about it all being out of hand I said I had serious doubts about arrest being the right thing to do, and that having to sort belongings via solicitor was all just too much.
He rang me pretty much straight away which was helpful - not sure I could have stood another day of not hearing anything. He can see where I'm coming from, although he was clear that I haven't made things worse by reporting little things (one of the things I was fretting about). Instead of going straight for arrest, he will attempt to carry out another voluntary interview with FOH this afternoon (if FOH doesn't agree, he will be arrested). He did say that there's still a good chance they'll be taking him to court.
We also talked about how best to get the stuff moved (and just how much of it there is, far more than FOH will be thinking there is). I've said I'm happy to arrange it via a third party (as in friend, not solicitor). He's said the police can be there if I want them to be, but he agrees that it may not help. Which then set me off saying again that reporting all the tiny things I have done lately haven't helped, and that it would probably have calmed down by now if I'd just ignored it. He was very lovely and stressed that I need to report everything, and that it's FOH who could have stopped this, not me. Then I had a little cry in the car park.
He'll call me back this afternoon when he's spoken to FOH.0
