Well done on contacting a counsellor, tea. I hope it helps alleviate the brain ache.

Yes, great news. I'm sure a counsellor will help to sort your brain out. Will it be someone experienced with stalking?

The counsellor would be the one person in the world from whom you wouldn't want to hear, "I'll follow you up on that."
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Not that I'm aware of, but tbh I didn't think to look at that. This might sound ridiculous to everyone else but I don't think the behaviour of the last two months is the problem, it's the ten years before that that's messing my head up so much. Although, now I've written that it occurs to me that maybe that isn't the case - if he'd stuck to being happy with the break-up and had moved on then I'm sure I'd be a lot more settled with things by now.

Would be so nice to just settle on a course of action and stick with it, even if it wasn't necessarily an easy course. It took me the best part of two miserable years to make the final decision to end things (and that was when he was more than happy to!), and now I'm just back to not knowing my own mind again.

It's genuinely making me laugh that I'm veering from 'restraining order' one minute to 'maybe we should get married' the next, via 'no future in this but a conversation would really help'. What has happened to my poor brain?!

Clearly I need someone to talk to! I cannot possibly express how much I appreciate having this place to vent out all my mad ramblings, but I am also very aware of how annoying it is. I'm sooooo annoyed at myself, if that's any consolation.

ETA: everything crossed melly. Really hope it's good news, and that you hear soon x.
  • tea, it isn't annoying. I'm sure most or all of us have been through breakups of long term relationships and they are hard enough to deal with, even without what's been happening to you.

Hopefully talking to someone will help you get things straight in your own mind, rather than going round and round in circles.

  • You're not being annoying at all tea. If there ever was a perfect place to talk through your thoughts and feelings, then this is it.

Fingers crossed for you Melly :)
