Thanks Birdie - couldn't quite remember what we were supposed to be posting so was hoping someone would get us started :D

I've stayed the same this week - bit disappointing as I thought I'd done ok but not going to fret about it.

    Ok.... positive things:
    1. I've specifically gone out for a walk twice this week, and have generally tried to be a bit more active (although only broken the 10k steps once!)
    2. Have eaten far more healthily. By no means perfect but a big improvement on the last few months.
    3. Have been enjoying some no-strings, no-hassle text flirting*

    Positive steps for this week:
    1. Have got some lovely things planned for the weekend and really looking forward to it.
    2. I'm going to finish the infinity scarf I'm making (after seeing some lovely ones in John Lewis for £30. This one is costing me £3 and should have enough wool left for a matching hat)
    3. Am going to continue to eat proper meals and cut out the worst of the snacking.

    * have decided that after a long, heavy, unhealthy relationship, I need a good palate-cleansing fling. The guy equivalent of a sorbet :rotfl:.

What rotters your teasing DHs are Code and Georgie! I hate being teased, luckily DH has cottoned onto that fact and never keeps food away from me! :p
    :p

Rotters is one word you could use! :p :rotfl:

D is quite greedy when it comes to food. I don't think he was taught to share as a child! :p

    Love those Converse, very nice!

Weigh in Wednesday totally slipped my mind again. :o I'm going to have to dig the scales out because I don't know what I weigh, so wouldn't know if I'd lost anything anyhow.

One positive thing I can add though. I've been thinking on doing the 5:2 for a while, so might start that this week.

Birdie - those Converse are beautiful and such a good bargain. I wish I could wear them but, for some reason, Converse always shred my feet.

Tea - well done on the flirting. Is it with Mr HL or someone new?

So, WWI didn't go very well for me this morning. I know I've not been actually dieting but I've not been eating badly either and managed to put on 4lb. You would've thought that still having an upset stomach would've been a good weight loss aid (if nothing else it's helping me seriously cut down on the snacking as the cramps after eating make it not worth it) but apparently not. I know it should make me determined to knuckle down, start counting points and diet properly but seems to have had an "Oh f*($ it" effect instead.

Anyway, on to a happier note, I managed 2 of last week's positive steps by seriously reducing my alcohol intake and spending 2 hours ironing last night put quite a big dent in the pile that's built up.

    Positive things:
    1. We took my auntie out for lunch on Saturday and she had a really lovely afternoon.
    2. I finally got round to giving the kitchen a properly good clean on Sunday
    3. I've been getting progressively more tired due to sleeping badly and couldn't face getting up yesterday so took half a day's leave and used it to get some proper rest

    Positive steps for the week:
    1. I will get round to using my new manicure set (really, most positively definitely this week)
    2. I'll get up to date with my ironing
    3. I'll make a bakewell tart (okay, so not great in terms of trying to lose weight but I haven't had time to do fun cooking for a while so asked my boyfriend what he'd like me to make this weekend)

Tea, is Mr. Sorbet someone different?

Georgie, do you know, I think your Nan will actually love it in the end!
Obviously, I don't know her, but did you say she was 90?
Look on it as a way for all her progeny to celebrate those 90years. :)

It will probably be the only time she'll see all the family together like that, and the fact that everybody wants to come is a testament to how much they think of her.

Plus the big family photo will be a one-off.

Sometimes when you've not been away for years, possibly, and are used to your own company, the thought of going away seems like a huge hurdle, but when you actually go, you start to really enjoy it, particularly as it's a family reunion too.

I honestly think that once she's there and has got over that first strange few hours, she'll love it, and that feeling of being so well thought of by everyone will be a huge boost.

Plus she'll have some lovely memories of being cherished!

Mr Sorbet is Mr HL (believe me, I don't have a queue of suitors lining up!) :rotfl:.

Obviously nothing will come of this, and I don't think for a second that we'll even meet up again. But right now some flirting about uniforms is about as much as I'm looking for :p:D.

It's my Aunty, my Dad's sister. :) I'm sure in her own way she'll enjoy it once shes there. She hasn't been well lately, and is still not right, doesn't really like going anywhere and feels most comfortable in her own home. I think it's just bad that they've organised this for her when they know deep down that if they'd have asked, she'd have said no. They're doing it because they think she should have a 90th birthday party.

This is the women who didn't even turn up for my Dad's 90th birthday party, and even worse, didn't go to the Crem or his wake. :(

    Anyhoo, it'll be right! :)

Weekly weigh in: stayed the same, which is unsurprising since I only dieted 2 days this week, and even then wasn't that good.

    Positives:
    1. I didn't actually gain weight
    2. Once again I didn't give into the temptation of a Chinese/Dominos.
    3. I had a great time at the park with DA dog, playing in thr snow and got to meet a cocker spaniel puppy.

    Positive actions for this week:
    1. I will stick to trying to lose weight rather than eating all the food. (except today when I'm meeting a friend for lunch).
    2. I will try to get more housework done as we've let it lapse a bit.
    3. I will not let the pain in my face defeat me.

    Weigh in Wed

    1. After my disappointing Boots visit, I decided I would weigh myself there once a month rather than get batteries for my not-very-good scales. So no actual weight to report. However, I am starting to have definition on my chin, so I am confident that shrinkage is going on.

    2. Exercise. I am continuing with the exercise regime and am gradually increasing the amount I can stretch or press up etc

    3. I am eating healthily and not getting cravings at all. I am also being very good with my vitamins.

    Next things:

    1. Put both your fists out in front of you next to each other.

This is 1 kg of fat.

    Take one fist away.

This is 1 kg of muscle.

(I have no idea whether this is true or not. I read it online, and it has captured my imagination. It may help to explain why I am heavier than I thought given my inch loss).

This week I am going to learn more about muscles.

    2. I need to catch up on sleep.

    3. I am going to get my paperwork out of the way and do some reorganising. This is part of healthy minds. We didn't keep on top of the in-flow to the house last year and with littlewing there is a constant flow of stuff into the house that the mini-hoarder wants to keep. We need to keep establishing good habits.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
