Oh crumbs, Code, I've been taking mega doses of Vit. C, Propolis, Bronchoforce, First Defence, Coldzyme, probiotics, and using tea tree oil and rosemary oil, plus catarrh pastilles, Manuka honey, lots of hot drinks..........

Ok, it might all have been a lot worse without that lot, I suppose, but quite honestly, with viruses, you just have to weather it out. I just wish they wouldn't always go to my chest.

It's Sri Lanka, my first long haul for 40years, plus I've never been further east than Austria before! :D

Sri Lanka - had a lovely holiday there some years ago. I went into the travel agent to book a Greek Island but as a bomb had recently gone off in Columbo it was very cheap so I thought why not?
    Is it an organised tour?

Eta we found a jewellery shop full of the old colonial Portuguese style jewellery that was out of fashion and being broken up it be reset. It was beautiful and I could have bought the shop out.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Tell me about it! Never has there been a more true saying that once you pop you can't stop!

You shared shared them, so technically that makes them ok! :p

Talking about Jaffa cakes, D came back with 2 of those long packs of jaffas (the one with 4 packs in) and was mighty chuffed at his bargain "they were only 75p each"... thats not really the point through is it? I was then told I was lucky he'd only came back with 2.

It was Pringles that nearly led to Gitdog's downfall for his silver award.

I have hailstones coming down my chimney.

  • Are you sure it hasn't turned into a chest infection that you might need to take some antibiotics for Pyxis? If you suspect that might be the case, the sooner you start on them the better.

My Dad was stationed out in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) with the army. He always spoke fondly of it, and I loved hearing his stories and about all the little geckos running about everywhere. It sounds such a beautiful country. How long are you going for?

Well, yes, it has turned into a chest infection but that chest infection is also viral, so antibiotics would be useless.
99 out of 100 URTIs are viral. It's the misuse of antibiotics in this way that is causing bacterial resistance to them. I feel very strongly about this. Just because a cough is productive, doesn't mean it's bacterial; in fact it's still quite likely to be viral. The colour of the phlegm is also no indication.

I'm going for two weeks. It's a singing holiday, another reason why I want to be well! :D Mind you, the Government health warnings and vaccine recommendations nearly put me off! :D The worst thing is going to be cleaning my teeth with bottled water. I hate cleaning my teeth in anything other than running water.

    .

Ah right :) Just that I remember one Christmas/New Year I got a really bad chest infection that wouldn't shift. The doctor gave me antibiotics and they really helped clear it up very fast whereas I'd been struggling to even breathe before.

Hope it clears up soon and you remain illness free so you are able to fully enjoy your holiday. :)

When is an acceptable amount of Pringles to consume? I'm about half way down already and showing no sign of slowing down! :rotfl:

Normally I'd eat the whole thing.

I am so proud of myself for a very small thing. I used to be very frugal with money and food shopping but since living with DH, I've been rubbish, partly because he doesn't like a lot of stuff I used to cook, and partly because I'm lazy and want takeaways. Today, instead of looking in the fairly empty fridge, deciding we have no food and ordering a pizza or chinese, I made omlette and chips with eggs that were going out of date but using the water test, were still fresh and leftover cheese from a cheeseboard. I transferred the money I would have spent on takeaway to my 'ladies nice things' account :rotfl: Such a tiny thing but I decided to cook more this year so am happy with myself.

Littlewing helped me cook tonight's Gmeal - she cut the carrot into triangles rather than dice it though. She really loved helping, and kept saying, ohh, it smells nice and looks beautiful. It was very tasty although a bit too much of a taste sensation for her. But she did try it all.

I have been healthy today due to having nothing naughty here!
