  • I do ZR with walking and rowing as well as running :)

DR is all squats and burpees and the like.

    HBS x

This lean in 15 involves a lot of those squats and burpees. They just seem a lot of effort to me at the moment. :o

There's this new album out with tunes that are meant to motivate you whilst you are running. It's got some good tunes on it. I want it, but just to listen to in the car. :p

Have got a good recipe that we make all the time in the slow cooker. It's called Healthy Chicken Stew and it's really tasty. We made it last night and I've just had the leftovers now (a massive bowl full) and am just sitting here wondering just how healthy it actually is as it contains pasta. I think I've just eaten my body weight in pasta and bread....woo! Great start! :rotfl:

Oh and re: running, it's just not something I seem to be able to do?! My bum wobbles and it hurts so I don't bother, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I know so many runners with shot knees, hips, ankles etc that I don't feel like I'm missing much!

I need the courage to get in contact with the local Roller Derby team and see what that's all about and if it's something I could do... I've been trying to muster up said courage for about 3 months now!!! :p

    Roller Derby sounds awesome! :D

My bum wobbles when I run too. :o When me and my Uncle were running into the sea at New Year, I could feel it wobble and was worried I was gonna cause a tsunami

As much as I kind of hate weightwatchers points, as they make me obsess slightly about what I'm eating, I do find they help with making me have correct (tiny) portion sizes and I'll often change my eating habits to allow me to eat more, meaning I rely much more on veg than bread/pasta to fill me up.

I'm another one who can't run as well. Quite apart from the wobbling issue, I seem to forget how to breathe if I go at anything beyond a fast walking pace. I can quite happily walk for hours but I can't run for a minute...

Me too izadora. When I'm in a gym phase I can do 60min workouts 2-3 times a week and absolutely love it. But I can't run for more than a minute without thinking I'm having a heart attack.

I so badly need to get back to the gym. Am ashamed at how long it's been since I darkened their door!

Is it really bad to admit that I've never actually been to the gym?

It's partly laziness but also a large dollop of being scared that I'll get it all wrong and that the perfectly taut gym bunnies (and yes, I know that they had to spend a lot of time in the gym to get those bodies and I'll never get one if I carry on choosing to sit on my fat bum) will laugh at me.

I'm the same. I used to do a lot of running many years ago, but now I'm unfit and out of practice with anything exercise related, I find it so hard. I can walk for miles and miles and not need my inhaler, but jog for even a tiny distance then I usually need it. I know what you mean about the forgetting to breathe properly!

You see, the silly thing is that I genuinely love it when I'm in there! I get into a great routine of going 2 or 3 times a week, I enjoy the huge endorphin rush, I feel so much better... then something will happen that throws my routine (new job and much less free time in this case) and before I know it 8 months have gone by and I haven't been in there. Then it seems a big scary thing to start going again, even though I know I'll love it.

TEA - I used to be the shyest little mouse until I had to start fighting big important battles . I used to feel physically ill at the thought of stepping outside my comfort zone . Over time I began to realise if I didn't do things as well as possible the outcome wouldn't be good .Over time I began "fake it till you make it " and now I'm not faking anymore and it works . I feel the gym would benefit both your physical and mental wellbeing right now and be your big step forward from all the past rubbish . I have faith in you think of the golden lights and grab your life back sweetheart !

I am so up for healthy whatever. I just saw someone I haven't seen for a few months and she told me I have lost loads of weight!

I am eating almonds now. DH bought me some because I mentioned that I'd read a handful of almonds a day would be really good for me. So he keeps feeding me almonds and I just remembered where I read it - on an annual horoscope page ie not quite so scientific.

We are trying out Gousto (it's like Hello Fresh) - the weighed out ingredients get delivered to your door. It isn't cheap but should stop DH spending a fortune every day while shopping and should also save us some time so we can get a better balance of time. Last year was awful. I am excited about our first box but DH thinks he will still be hungry.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
