Been in bed sick all day so too much time to think. Mostly going round in circles about whether to accept this job if they offer it.

Not really. They didn't ask me anything about myself beyond my skills, didn't give me water in a 90 minute interview, and I think they have no understanding of the equalities act as they said they 'had to think about whether to proceed' when informed about my dyscalculia, which makes me worry about how they'll handle a TN episode. The guy who would be my manager even failed at smalltalk on the way out. And the job description was so boring I almost nodded off.

On the plus side, it would give me experience in a different sector, the commute would be 1hr shorter, and it pays more.

I'd almost decided to turn it down until I read a horoscope about windows opening in careers from the day I'll find out if they'll offer it to me. Which is so dumb on so many levels.

Code - is that an hour shorter commute each way or per day? An hour less travelling would be a big factor for me. Can I ask a question - how would you feel about carrying on as you are in current job? Does that make you feel better or worse? Is that a scenario you would feel comfortable in for the next 2 years?

Thanks Moo - I will PM it over, probably on Sunday when I have done it and any thoughts would be gladly welcomed.

    It's not dumb.
Have you done a pros and cons for each of the jobs?
    That can help focus

I read my horoscope too, mainly as it reminds me to be positive.

code, you don't need to go round in circles about it. When/if you get the offer, you'll instinctively know. (Whether you then override that feeling is another thing).

fly, yes of course we will help with wording.

I got all my xmas cards down now. I will make them into gift tags. I will find it relaxing, and useful.

It's an hour a day but I'd need to travel at peak times.

Sometimes in my current job I feel a bit bored and stagnant but there is a decent amount of work coming up and it's mostly the type I enjoy. Also, they understand my health needs and let me work from home or take extra sick leave.

A further consideration, which shouldn't be is they're on a hiring freeze so they wouldn't be able to replace me and I feel bad about that.
