There are no photos of me when I was first born, largely because I was baby no 4 and nobody cares by that point but also because I got stuck and gravity and contractions were forcing me down headfirst and I couldn't get through the cervix. I was a couple of weeks early (still managed to be 7lbs though - babies I'm my family are massive), had jaundice and massive amounts of bruising on my head. I'm guessing it wasn't a pretty picture. But vulcan baby is funny as she has pointy ears and the eyebrows. :rotfl:

And another potential present. (There are other types too - doesn't have to be this one). Plus you could regift it to MIL or your niece.

I've had an idea on what to buy for Mr CP but it's double what I was planning to spend, after using all my nectar points. But he'd love it and maybe it's better to get him one big yay present than several little meh presents?
Do it! Big prezzies are excellent.

I'm hopeless at choosing presents, so if I knew that something was really wanted by the recipient I'd just buy it for them, unless it was impractically expensive.

  • Oooh that sounds very exciting, Code!

I'm tempted by a Christmas dress but am having a HUGE crisis of confidence at the moment.

Applied for a job...rejected in under 2 hours. No feedback. That's got to be some kind of record...am I THAT bad??

Nope, Hbs, you're not. Sounds like they got so many applications they just made a reject pile without looking. Email them and request feedback, if only to find out why.

I think I've rejected too many jobs with that agency as I asked for more information about something and the guy hasn't answered me.

Agencies, and recruitment in general, doesn't seem to have any logic to it. I've previously had agencies absolutely hounding me with calls and emails, the minute I say I'm actually interesting in speaking to me they go quiet. I think you have to view it in a similar way to online dating, in that initial rejections are just not personal. They probably have an automatic scan for some key words or similar and if you miss one of them out you get a reject email. Or something equally arbitrary. Don't lose heart HBS, although I know that's not easy x.

ETA: code, he might be in a meeting, or on holiday or something. Or he might be swamped with work. Or he might have missed your message. I could go on but you get my point :)

The rejection email specifically said they can't give detailed feedback.

I might wallow a bit and treat myself to a nice lunch. With pud.

Definitely nice lunch and pud. If it stops raining long enough for me to dash round to asda I might do the same.
