This is a good article too about PTSD in the military, but again don't read it if you're fragile.

code,
could you get a catalogue off her and just buy a couple of cheaper things (xmas presents maybe), but not go to the party? I am awful at these parties as I always think things are so appealing.
Sometimes you can get some good stuff at this type of thing.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Possibly good advice ww. I don't think there is anything cheaper than £25 though. It's not even about the cosmetics really. I disagree with the whole pressure selling to your friends and being led with false promises of untold riches, when the truth is you'll be lucky to recoup the costs of your kit without really harassing people. If they were selling things they'd made on etsy or folksy I'd be more inclined to spend £25 or more. I have a friend who paints glass and they're so beautiful I've spent at least £150 with her.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Sorry about the boiler Georgie. That's rubbish.
I need some advice. My friend has taken to one of those selling cosmetics things and is convinced that she'll make enough money to give up work. I'm pretty sure these things are scams reliant on the goodwill of your friends to buy crap they don't need at prices higher than they normally would. I also suspect the real money is in recruiting people so a pyramid scheme really. Anyway, she's invited me to a 'party' and while I do want to support her, the big product is a mascara which makes eyelashes look spidery and tbh, I already look a bit like Faline from Bambi. So do I go, accept that I'm going to spend at least £25 on something I don't want or need on top of my transport costs to help her out or do I make an excuse why I can't go?
How could I forget about 'Here comes the sun'? Another one of my top Beatles songs!
Would you want to go to the party and see her regardless of whether she was selling anything or would you not really be bothered? If you're not really bothered, then I'd make an excuse. You're right, you'd end up buying something you don't really need. Like I said to Pyxis, you've got to think of yourself first, and in this case, charity begins at home. The money is better in your pocket than hers.
Me and my Mam went to a candle party once and felt obliged to buy something, so I (like many others) bought one of the cheapest things there (a small votive holder) along with some candles. Whilst it was nice, it wasn't worth nearly £20! I can't remember what my Mam bought, but I don't think she ever used it?
I'm the same regarding animals code0 -
