I am NVQing away and getting fed up - this unit is harder than the IMHA one.
The family sagas ref elderly relative and hospital/care support needs are ongoing.
On a positive note, caught up with a friend I've not spoken to for ages and she has a free ticket to see the Proclaimers. Not my usual thing, but should be fun.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Sorry to hear about your Aunty code
It's definitely times like that that make us think of our own mortality.

Hallooooo!
Am back home now!
What a lovely holiday that was!
Venice is soooooo much nicer out of season. Fewer people, not humid etc.
JM, I liked the paintings of the disorders, but not the toys. Again, they're too cuddly!
I really took umbrage with the descriptions though! It's not like describing nasty bacteria or viruses, these descriptions are, by their very nature, of the people concerned, and I thought they were rather cruel. You can't describe mental illnesses in terms of an outside agent, because there very rarely is one!
I don't really even like the 'black dog' analogy, because dogs are nice!
Weather conditions would be better..........
Anxiety could be sharp, driving rain.
Depression could be thick fog.
Paranoia could be a whirlwind.
OCD could be a howling head-on force 8 gale, (you're walking but you're not getting anywhere!)
Agarophobia could be deep snow drifts.
Claustrophobia is stifling humidity.
Anorexia would be steady drizzle.
Bulimia would be steady drizzle interspersed with a short sharp downpour.
Bipolar is one of those very changeable days, a mixture of very heavy showers and sunshine.
BPD is that very gentle, misty, 'soft' rain, the sort where you don't realise you're getting wet until you're soaked.
And I suppose MPD would be the sort of day that throws every type of weather at you!
Psychosis is a thunderstorm, booming deafeningly in your ear.(I just lurve spiders!)

Pyxis, I love the idea of them being like weather.

 Pyxis
Glad you had a lovely time!
Much nicer way to describe them as weather conditions0 -
pyxis,
I love those weather descriptions, especially because I have BPD and it is probably the only description of it that I've ever seen that doesn't make me feel even worse.
I did like the pictures too. And I liked the cuddly toys. But I like the weather ones the best.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Hello Theresamum! Welcome! You don't have to say anything if you don't want to! Or you can just chat if you like!
Just chatting is good too!
I've just thought......are you There's a mum, or Theresa mum?
I usually see usernames in a very peculiar way, sometimes for ages, and then suddenly see what they're supposed to be!
It can be quite amusing sometimes!
Anyway, I read There's a mum, but after I typed it with a capital T, I suddenly saw Theresa! Hahahaha!
It could be either, though!
(You'll get used to me,, I've got a strange brain! :rotfl: )
