Last night was horrible
Dogs were distressed
And the fireworks had become constant and really loud0 -
Pyxis, I must have got you muddled up with someone else. I thought it was you that wanted to do a Tough Mudder.

Fireworks were going off all over here although I'm not sure why as it was so foggy you couldn't see anything. Think there will be more tonight and over the rest of the weekend though. DA dog held up ok. He was a bit stressed at first but once we were both home, he parked himself between us, lay mostly on me and licked my face a couple of times . DA dog isnt a facelicking dog so I'll take that as a compliment. He also got a juicy meat bone to distract him.
Workmen are done. Just got new flooring to sort, and some basic diy type jobs I can do myself and then it's all done, except one room which has to be decorated and furnished but it's kind of a dumping ground atm.
So glad it's Friday but honestly considering calling in to work and having a day off. Probably can't get away with that, but so tired. Also need to get my prescription because I'm running out of meds and if I forget even one dose my body punishes me with intense pain for days.
Also saw this article this morning and thought, good for you.

Hugs to all humans and animals distressed by fireworks (((hugs))) They seem to be getting louder every year. Quite a few went off here last night and the nights before too, and it was like a bomb had gone off  Personally I prefer the pretty sparkly ones rather than the noisy ones.
I used to love going to the organised display in town, but they haven't had it for a few years now.
Miserable day here, heavy rain. I think today will mainly be spent catching up on programmes I've recorded....I'm addicted to Ink Master and Best Ink at the moment!0 -
Thanks code. All very sensible lifestyle changes.
Does anyone have any advice on how to persuade oneself to get off one's butt and do some exercise? I can't logically figure out why I can't do it and it frustrates me so. I thought it was because I didn;t like being seen by other people (fat old heffer struggling to walk down the street) so I bought a treadmill - have not used it.......... thought it was because my lower back was so painful - got a back support......... and etc etc. In the past I have been able to logically persuade myself into something I struggle with but exercise is a real sticking point for me.......it might seem a silly question but am I missing something obvious? My health is the one thing I feel like I have the ability to control and so desperately want to improve, yet can't get myself to do anything.
Barely had any fireworks here last night. I am expecting them all at the weekend.0 -
Well, I've just read an article that says the best way to get exercise and lose weight is to do 30 mins brisk walking a day, so you're on to a great start with the treadmill!
Personally speaking, I've got to have something to distract me, to keep me interested and to stop me from getting bored. Walking long distances, I can do pretty well, but tbh I find it boring sometimes. With a treadmill in your house, you could make it more interesting by setting it up in front of the tv if you've got room, and then watch your favourite programme whilst you are exercising. It won't feel like such a chore then, and because you are distracted, time will fly by quicker and you'll have done a few miles before you know it! If that's not possible, have some music on in the background, something energetic and rocky!
Afterwards reward yourself. Not with something bad like cake or chocolate, but say an hours internet time or something? Or a read of your favourite book or gossip mag for instance.0 -

For walking and running, I will ALWAYS recommend either The Walk or Zombies, Run! from Six to Start. They are exercise apps with an audio story to keep them interesting
Mood up and down like a yo-yo at the moment. I got offered a load of mats last night for my squad then got snapped at for them taking up too much room. They're only spread out temporarily to air out
I went home crying because I thought I had done something nice and then got crap because of it. Thankfully the building's managers were nice and said we could sort the mats out at a later date.
(OH partially agreeing with the chap that snapped didn't help.)
Soooo....I have come into work at a ridiculous hour so I can leave early and heft mats around. Joy.

Find something you enjoy - or at least dislike less. So if you like company, find a walking group. If you like dancing, would something like line dancing work better than a formal exercise class?
My other suggestion would be to make it part of a routine - set a day/time and stick to it, so it's harder to procrastinate. And start small. If 10 minutes of couch to 5K, boogying in front of the TV, or whatever is enough to start with, then do that and slowly build up the time, rather than killing yourself with half an hour and getting so sore you have no incentive to do it again. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
