A large piece of cling film over the top, then put the lid on.
Alternatively, decant into another tin?
Don't have any cling film. But might try with a split open food bag.
I did try two layers of tin foil and that did not help.
Don't have another tin to put it in.

Big Hugs, Welly, Little Sod knows you will take care of him.
I have the same condition, Gemini and have taken inhibitors for it for years. I have triggered it with the vomiting unfortunately. Do try tilting your bed as has been said, I have books under the legs of mine to do the job.
I gave in at 10am and called my doctor. He has now put me on charcoal tablets too, to try to absorb the acid. He also recommended I try a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger in a glass of warm water when I have nausea. Other than that, it's a question of time for the healing to take place. My stomach is in a pre-ulcerative state (which hopefully won't develop!) so it is going to be painful for a while. The reason why standing up helps is because it separates the sores, sitting down will rub them against each other and against my stomach lining. Also I have to eat even if I am in pain to soak up some of the acid, preferably absorbent foods like white bread. Other than that there is no problem with going to A&E and asking for intravenous pain relief if it gets too bad, they are used to that for this problem.
It eased after the charcoal tablets so I managed four hours sleep which has helped a bit at least.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

I love the smell of turps. When my dad used to paint I would be hovering around him trying to sniff it. I am weird, I know.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

All fine at the vets, phew! Hubby knew it would be but also knew I'd worry myself silly if we didn't go. Little Sod was a star, so we took him to the park afterwards.
So proud of him. He was pottering around off his lead and a poodle came bounding over. They had a good chase round and a play. Was lovely to see him playing with another dog like that as usually he isn't quite sure how to behave.
Then the icing on the cake was when he was back on his lead heading back to the car, and a group of 5 whippets came running over dragging their leads with no sign of owners. They all circled us and were barking in his face. He stood still, gave an almighty woof and they all ran off.
Eventually the owners turned up followed by the dogs who circled Little Sod again, the owners just laughed as he did his woof again.
I was not overly polite to the owners! Was so proud of my furry man as that is the sort of situation where usually he would have had a melt down and it would have ended badly.
Hubby says he is finally growing up, either that or he can sense he is going to have to be a responsible adult soon!
Sorry for my up and down posts today, having a bit of a weird one.0 -

My Dad used turps, but then sometime in the 50s it changed to Turpentine Substitute. I remember asking my Dad why it was a substitute. It seemed strange to my child-brain.
Then, of course, later still, it became just plain old white spirit!
Anyway, google solved the puzzle. Genuine Turps, being a derivative from pine trees, was expensive to produce compared with the mineral- and petroleum-derived sources, hence the rise of Turps substitute which later became plain old white spirit.
You can still get proper turps; artists use it as a solvent and brush cleaner, but of course they use it in much smaller quantities.
Anyway, it solved that mystery for me!
End of lecture on Turpentine!
I tell you what smell is evocative for me, and that's proper linseed oil putty! Yum yum!(I just lurve spiders!)

Cost me all of £4, makes cleaning really easy and the brushes last so much longer (I used to wrap them in clingfilm but sometimes they went solid overnight). Wish I'd bought one years ago.

I pay £1 for 5 brushes. If its emulsion then I do wash them out.
I got a bit of thing about chemicals. So thats another reason why I chuck them
