**runs through fort, restocking the cheese straws as always and trailing the customary paint and cement throughout the place**
{squishes} to all.
Just caught up on the thread and was just thinking what a great bunch you all are. Your encouragements and kind words have led to me doing something great/terrible. I start Uni on Wednesday for my masters degree. Excited and panicking at the same time. Still no idea if it is the right thing to do, but it is a road to travel, which is better than standing at the crossroads worrying about taking the wrong path! So big thanks.......
I totally agree on the stress, panic and worry over the small or insignificant decisions - I couldn't choose paint colours to save my life - everything is painted white! The shed of luridity only got yellow and orange in a fit of grabbing two pots in a shop as I couldn't choose!
I can work away quite happily on a project as long as the process is clear cut, but at the moment, if there is a decision to make........ I am useless.........and I know I am using the physical activities and projects to occupy my mind to keep me from thinking about other stuff......but for now it seems to work.
I will be sanding and restoring a couple of tables I picked up at a charity shop later soon and I know I will have no problem with figuring out how to take them apart, what grit of sandpaper to use and figuring out which tools are best to use on them, but once they are done......hubby will have to pick an oil or stain type and colour to finish them with as I would not be able to make the decision......weird.
Thanks for the manatee pics - it's me who is soft on them, wey cute.0 -
Morning my lovelies,
Way to go Fly baby with Uni and doing your masters.
MU happy birthday for today.
Well the hall way has colour on most of it now. A couple of bits still need doing like under the stairs and around the radiator. But need to be very patient to do those bits.
I think I know why I really disliked doing the decorating. I go at it like a bull at a gate and wear myself out to get it done. Rather than take a bit more more time and get it done.
Anyway was up at 8am,went to the post office to collect my sprialer thingy. Went to waitrose (I know hark at her. Only went because of the deals as I have a my waitrose card) to do a little bit of shopping, painted the walls. Made my bed and had a shower so now sitting down.
Off out with mum this afternoon for her birthday thing.
So a very productive day so far.
Anyway hugs, squishes and handshakes to all that need them.
Yours

Fly Baby,
I have a old china cabinet that I display all my toy VW's in and would love to revamp it.
Not really sure how. I would love to hear your tips.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Faerie. It must have been awful for your friend to get 'the call', and lovely they are helping you out.
We are lucky that our house is so old that there are wooden beams everywhere so the only colour we could really paint is white, so no decisions to make!
I thought Escapette was smiling, it was a warning about imminent projectile vomit, which got me in the eyes. Never trust a smiling baby.
Health visitor later. We have already got off on the wrong foot so should be interesting. She hates Little Sod.0 -

Be glad about the vomit, boys have a habit of peeing in your face lol .So the health visitor is not a dog lover then? I take it little sod has done nothing to make her hate him?dislike people who judge dogs by their size or breed0 -
I spent so long in my 20s living in magnolia rental flats that I wasn't allowed to decorate that now I refuse to use neutral colours on their own. Every room we've decorated has at least one brightly coloured wall. It would help if DH would give an opinion which wasn't yes to everything.
Me: Do you like this colour.
DH: yes
Me: What about this one?
DH: yes
Me: Which do you like better?
DH: Yes.
Me: Arrrgh. Just tell me which you prefer.
DH: either.
Me: This one then.
DH: Nah. I don't like it.

aww thanks guys.. I forced myself out of the flat and got a few freebies, which took my mind off things, but coming home, the emotional mother pain set in again.. I so don't want to be alone with my own head. Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE0

Good afternoon all!
Hope Escapette and you are feeling a bit better today, Welly!
I am on edge today. My own fault for stopping my medication, even doing so briefly has an effect. All has been take today so I should feel fine soon. In the meantime I have floating anxiety, not about anything specific, just anxiety in general. Calley - can you post a pic of the cabinet and I happily give you my thoughts.
Welly - sorry, I am with escapette - my projectile vomit is legendary!
Penguin - funny story but it is all about vomit and poo so the faint hearted might like to avoid!!!!
I am giggling at the thought of my mother telling the story of the first time I ever said "I feel sick" - the whole family was knocked out with a sick bug one Christmas and I was the last to go down with it and my poor mum was exhausted by that point looking after everyone and so she just put a bowl by my bed and went off to tend the next person - I was a good girl and dutifully lent over the bed and threw up in the bowl - which bounced straight out and across the bedroom, through the open door and across the landing just in front of my mum! Since then, we have always had a spare black bin (the old fashioned ones we all used to have before the days of wheelie bins) as that is the only thing with high enough sides to contain my projectile vomit!!!! So, mental note - you are going to need a bigger bowl ( as the m&M's advert says!)
(and if you all want a real giggle - my stomach likes to expel both ways with that amount of force - so on the odd days when my ibs is bad - all hell breaks loose!!! Thankfully I can see the funny side to it now as I have my IBS well controlled!)0
