Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. As a result, we have taken the decision to keep this board permanently closed, but it remains viewable for users who may find some useful information in it. Thank you for your understanding.

TheCountOfNowhere is one of those characters your get on forums occasionally. I don't know how it works because he is so transparently delusional to me (he really believes prices are crashing currently) but yet he seems to have a lot of people following in his wake, or disciples.
Look, again for the record, for anyone from HPC reading this, I'm not a housing bull or bear. I'm just a guy seeking to understand the economics behind it all to make the best decision for my financial future. You need to question what you're viewing over at that board because people like me who question the "crash" just get accused of being a troll (by the Count) and banned. You're only reading what the moderators want you to read.
I think their are one or two selfish people on this forum too, but at least it seems to not be moderated. Opposing views are tolerated.
This forum is more or less controlled by the people you speak of though, because they seem to be on hand night and day to shout "HPI HPI" or "Renting Loser" at anyone who dares suggest that there was a bubble which is now popping.0 -

i am exactly in the same situation , just trying to understand the madness of it all without being shot down. house prices are crazy and do need to fall at lot in london and the south east anyway , but don`t dare suggest they won`t on HPC instant ban.
very few people post on HPC now , just the same people including count posting the same rubbish , i do like his "shall we start the day with a xxxxx drop" sadly he never seems to post actual selling prices and the resale of that property lower than the purchase price , only hopeful sellers with laughable asking prices and dropping them :rotfl:
i do think the guy has convinced himself that a reduction in asking prices somehow constitutes to a crash , i do hope he sees the error of his ways just for his poor wife`s sake a at least , it surprises me that any women would stick around with a loser like that he must have beaten the life out of her over the years ,just like he does with non conformers in the forum.0 -

"I don't think so somehow.
Not buying a house has served me well, my wife and I can move away from the UK and retire now.
All thanks to not owning a house.
Read it and weep debt monkeys"
even now with prices doubled since 2008-2009 the moron still thinks he made the right decision ??
i do feel sorry for his wife , most women will want a home to make there own decorating etc , this guy has just !!!!ed away 100`s of thousands of pounds believing his own drivel .
i myself got banned after questioning the crash , just got bombarded with graph`s and other rubbish showing how prices had dropped in my local area , funny that prices are at least twice as much as 2008 and sometime even more .
Is your local area mentioned here?

Count is your typical classic RFL (I.e. Rent Forever Loser.)
Worse than that he's an RFL drama queen constantly threatening year in year out to leaving the UK for apparent greener pastures. But he never leaves anything more than his bedsit each day to collect his Daily Sport. It seems his skills in self pleasure are not so much in demand around the world.
I have faith that one day he will grow up and grow a pair to buy and settle down. If anyone needs it it is him. God bless.0 -
When prices went above 3.5 times wages in Kensington in 1924 or whenever they did, someone was probably saying, 'this is so unsustainable, this can't go on'.
