The HPC goons are basically turning on each other now:

Must be bad times waking up to realise that you've wasted all your own hard earned cash simply paying off your landlords mortgage for them. Very honourable. But pure madness.0 -

I would suggest it's LL's that will regret not paying down their mortgages while times were good. As the Lord giveth with one hand and take away with another.0 -
What makes you think that landlords aren't paying down their mortgages? What do you suppose they are doing with the rental income? Any rental income we received went immediately to paying down the mortgage earlier and faster.0

Using it for deposit on the next property?0 -

I invest it in equities, I get a much higher return than the 1% that I pay on my mortgages.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Bland Upsight has completely lost it.
He seems to be one of the most intelligent and articulate members of the HPC crew. It must dent his confidence that despite his awesomeness he STR'ed (I think) in the SE a few years ago.0 -

He does rather seem to have lost it. His forensic analysis of lauralondons entirely rationale posts have left him a laughing stock and he's now running away from the debate.
The discussion then descends into farcical with this poster accusing the government of infiltrating the HPC forum:

Not really Crashy. It's only maths, risk assessment and having different priorities.
You've invested 18 years rent and accepted living in accommodation the government deem not even good enough for benefits claimants. For what? A crash that hasn't happened.
I've spent not much more than you over the same time and managed to house a family in a nice home.
The irony is if your crash comes there's a good chance I'll be able to move somewhere much nicer whilst you keep renting because you fear being without the safety blanket of your oh so large cash savings.
The best you'll get from a crash is a bit of fun working on your Hamish fetish (dressed up as an 'interest' in Aberdeen) and maybe your rent will go down to £350 month allowing you to put an extra £600 in your post office account each year.0 -

And yours is probably quite a lot larger than his.0
