You obviously know your stuff. Here is a picture of the front, do you think it was original to the house?

Hi Claire, I have an interest in the history of houses (not an expert) and apart from the dormer window in the roof it looks typically late 1800's - early 1900's.. When you see sash windows without any glazing bars it tends to be the crossover from the Victorian period to the Edwardian so I'd say yes its A&C ...

Really nice Gallows brackets under the front gable roof and the fascia freeze/brackets are a nice touch too. Not sure about the chimneys being original but you have a really nice ridge finial on the top of the gable roof.

Very nice front entrace door. Are there any signs that the front entrace door and frame have been moved forward?. Quite often the entrance would be set back behind the front facade so any visitors could wait outside and be out of the weather .

    I likey :)

Very close. At some point in its history there used to be a balcony over the front door, with access from the front landing window (door height). You can see from the photo there is some decorative brickwork above the triple sash that is missing from above left of that, over the door and then starting again above the right of ground floor front facing bay. We have no photos of this, and our neighbour hasn't seen any either. As you can still faintly see the remains of paintwork on some bricks of an outline we are assuming that this was originally wood and unfortunately rotted and removed.
