I thought I would put my twopenneth about the Ugg brand, given that some of you are confused about the real deal and the fakes.
There's no such thing as a fake ugg boot (notice I did not use the word ugg as a noun with a capital letter). If an ugg boot conforms to the style and comfort of a sheepskin boot of that style it's as real as any ugg can be. They all look very similar to me.
But there is such a thing as a fake Decker's Ugg boot, however. The logo and brand, bearing the famous back of heel tag, clearly marked 'Ugg' has been hijacked aplenty by various bootmakers, some of which produce reasonable quality branded Ugg look-a-likes, others charging a fortune for what can only be described as 'tat.' Some websites, claiming to sell these Deckers imposters will just run off with your money. So you need to be aware of being scammed.
I have bought a pair of tall sand Decker's Uggs, which I bought from the high street for nearly £200 squid. Yes, it was a lot of money to pay, but I intend to wear them a lot, and I tend to amortize whenever I buy clothes and accessories. That means the more I wear or use an item, the more I'm prepared to pay for it in order to get good quality that looks good longer term. But if I only intend to wear something infrequently or just once or twice, I will seek out a bargain..
The problem with Decker Ugg copies, which it seems many of you have bought, is that they are cheaper than the high street Decker's brand, but they still cost a lot more money than they are really worth if they are poorly made, as many of them are - with fake sheepskin interiors, weak ankle supports, poor stitching and labelling, and very bad for your feet with continued use. Therefore, £80 or so, or slightly less, depending on where you got them from, seems to me to be an awful lot of money to pay for rubbish that is probably not worth more than a few pounds and will probably fall apart a lot sooner than the higher priced Deckers version, or equivalent quality brand.
Because my Decker's Uggs have a thick sole and good heel reinforcement, they should last a long time and support my feet properly after years of use (well, here's hoping!). That will mean that, over time, they will become cheap at the price.
I would suggest that it's worth paying for the Decker's Uggs or buy another similar brand of ugg from another reputable high street retailer - one's you can try on for size and comfort. If you buy them off the internet you won't know what will arrive and you have little chance of getting a refund, at least from Decker rip-off sites that tend to have ugg in the domain name. E-bay are likely to sell fakes, according to their own website and it's likely to be true.
Paying a lot for good quality is not about snobbery or following celebrities. It's about getting something worth saving up for if you're not rich, like me. Something that will provide me years of pleasure from wearing good quality. I've never got bored with my good quality, higher priced, classics and I'm still wearing stuff I bought 10 years ago.
But if you are happy with cheaper throwaways, and intend to buy lots of different styles, intend to use them infrequently, so as not to ruin your feet, then by all means do the sensible thing and buy a cheaper version. If you're happy with them, who is anyone else to criticise or accuse you of buying a fake?

i think that emus, as well as LFAs, are much better quality. I was talking to my brother the other day and apparently there is a general fault with Uggs that Deckers have no intention of repariing as it has not effected sales. Emu soles are reinforced and I don't Uggs are- I think that's the problem. They have a bit of a tendency to "cave in" and it's even worse in fake Uggs.
LFAs have a really plush sheepskin interior as well- they are the thickest around. Emus seem to be relatively plush as well- I bought a pair but had to return them because they were just a little bit TOO small.
Different people will have different opinions when it comes to different types of Uggs. But I personally rate most more highly than I do Deckers.
I've had Emus, LFAs and Decker Uggs.
The sheepskin does feel better quality on the Emus and LFAs, but the heel reinforcement is a million miles better on Deckers.
Both pairs of my Emus (Stingers) have stretched horribly really quickly and the heel has folded a bit. I've worn my Bailey Uggs almost every day since October (and all day too as I have concrete floors in a cold house) and the heel is still perfect. The heel on the LFAs is not as good either (and they come up comparably small).
And, you can wash Deckers in the machine too. Someone earlier posted that about another brand. It is OK (IME) to wash both Emus and Decker Uggs.
I really wanted to prefer a cheaper brand, but having tried them I will only buy Deckers from now on.0 -

She went to Munich few weeks ago and wore them in the snow and now the sheepskin looks awful. She has raynauds so had to wear them to keep her toes warm. I`ve bought her a pair of new ones but the heels on her old ones are as good as new.
Just pop them in the washing machine on cold with some wool washing liquid. Then stuff them with newspaper to get the shape back and I stick them near a radiator.0 -

It's all personal opinion though. I was disappointed with the LFAs and they will be going on ebay, but others prefer them.0 -

Don't touch these with a barge pole ljwari - I was fooled by this site and got boots with a synthetic lining and stinking of glue or dye - not sure which. I was lucky enough to get a refund from my credit card though they can always claw that back if they don't get the result they want.0
