i think that emus, as well as LFAs, are much better quality. I was talking to my brother the other day and apparently there is a general fault with Uggs that Deckers have no intention of repariing as it has not effected sales. Emu soles are reinforced and I don't Uggs are- I think that's the problem. They have a bit of a tendency to "cave in" and it's even worse in fake Uggs.
LFAs have a really plush sheepskin interior as well- they are the thickest around. Emus seem to be relatively plush as well- I bought a pair but had to return them because they were just a little bit TOO small.
Different people will have different opinions when it comes to different types of Uggs. But I personally rate most more highly than I do Deckers.Opinion Panel £50 Lightspeed: £40 Pigsback: £303 Valued Opinions: £365 Media Transfer: £32 Juicy Brains- £30 American Consumer Opinion: £16 Freebie Networks: £220 Cashback Sites: £1503.87 Competitions: £200 Total Cash Value: £2759.87 Last updated: April 20230 -

I have both Emus (I mean Stingers, Brontes are completely different and not comparable) and Uggs and I wear both regularly. They are fairly similar in quality - I can only think that people who find Emu or LFA 'thicker' than Uggs are comparing them with fake Uggs. The main difference is simply in the shape overall - Emus are a bit wider across the foot, and the whole foot looks bigger as well. Only slightly, mind you, but it is noticeable - the Ugg is a bit more shapely. 'Reinforced' soles (I take it you mean molded footbeds?) are present only in Ugg Ultra/Ultimate family, and were present in the now discontinued Emu Outback and the Deluxe. No Ugg I own has ever caved in, and my oldest pair is 4 years old, but that is because they are not fakes...
The collapsing heel problem is confined only to fake Uggs, real Uggs have a rigid reinforced heel support. I see these fakes all the time - some are so bad that I am amazed that the wearer dare go out in them. If ever I had a sympathy with Deckers for pursuing other users of the Ugg brand name it is because of this. So many people must imagine that this is something that is a problem with Uggs, which is not good for the brand.
Sorry to be so blunt in disagreeing, but I wear these boots all winter, every winter.0 -
I agree with Haffiana, I have had my chocolate short Uggs for over 2 years now. I wear them all the time, especially in winter (to uni) and they are still warm, the heel is fine and in not a bad condition at all.0

My daughter is really heavy on shoes. I bought her decker uggs around Sept and they haven`t been off her feet. She went to Munich few weeks ago and wore them in the snow and now the sheepskin looks awful. She has raynauds so had to wear them to keep her toes warm. I`ve bought her a pair of new ones but the heels on her old ones are as good as new.0 -
it may well be that it the newer boots that have the problem. i have friends who have bought uggs and they all loved them- kind of why I went for them in the first place but now they seem to have one issue or another with them and are jealous of my LFAs. I guess different people are going to have different experiences. I know of a few posters on this thread who swear by Decker's Uggs but I personally wouldn't go near them.
I don't know much about bear paws personally but a few other posters have got them. Apparently they are really good value for money especially if you are on a bit of a tight budget but I can't say anymore than that.Opinion Panel £50 Lightspeed: £40 Pigsback: £303 Valued Opinions: £365 Media Transfer: £32 Juicy Brains- £30 American Consumer Opinion: £16 Freebie Networks: £220 Cashback Sites: £1503.87 Competitions: £200 Total Cash Value: £2759.87 Last updated: April 20230 -

Hi there,
I think you also need to be aware that the different brands all fit very differently. I am a size 4 in standard Deckers Uggs and I really wanted a pair of Emus - the 4s were huge and the 3s far too small so I had to leave them!
I have tried the LFAs that were very snuggly, but I didn't like the lettering on the back of the boot!
Regarding the wear issue - my oldest pair of Uggs are over 4 years old and yes, they don't look brand new any more, but I am very impressed with how good they still look and no issues with dodgy heals!
I did have an issue with the Bomber Uggs, but that was the material and not the actual boot!
I would go Deckers Uggs every time, but it really is personal preference.
Hope this helps?
