  • I understand that UGG sizes work in half sizes. So a US 9 would be a UK 7.5, US 8 UK 6.5 which is then rounded down.
    So US 9 = UK 7, US 8 = UK 6.
Does this mean the UK UGG sizes are larger than normal UK sizes.
My GF is UK 7, does this mean I should order US 9 or would people advise US 8 which would equate to a UK 6???

Argh... I wish this UGG lark was more straight forward.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I received my chestnut short Ugg boots on Monday from ww.hartings.co.nz and have to say I am so impressed. Not only did they cost me £55 inc delivery which took less than a week, but have just compared them to the "Just Sheepskin" one's in Debenhams and would say that mine are a far better quality.
The question of "genuine" and "fake" UGG's is answered if you read through the thread. "What came first the Ugg boot or Deckers?" Australia were making Ugg boots long before Deckers bought the name, then moved the production to China???
I was willing to sacrifice the 'label' but didn't want to sacrifice on quality, it doesn't mean I have bought 'fakes'. By the way thanks to those who recommended Hartings, just wished they sold the black one's or I'd be ordering again.
This is what the hartings website state:-
Canterbury Leather International is the premier New Zealand manufacturer of sheepskin footwear and apparel. A leading exporter, the company is the recipient of a number of government awards and has for many years been a preferred manufacturer for Deckers Outdoor Corporation - owners of the UGG® Australia brand.

I know what's a genuine Ugg and whats not, I don't need to read through the thread. Yes Australia were making Ugg's before Deckers bought the brand over. Deckers bought not only Ugg Australia but the Ugg brand too. Every boot that has Ugg or Ugg Australia branded onto them have to be Deckers genuine or they are fakes. They may be nicely made, they may have been around for a long time, but if they are not genuine Ugg Australia by Deckers they are not real.

HockeyDuo gave 2 websites, http://www.uggbootsdirect.com/ these are fakes as they are waaaay to cheap. http://www.uggbootshop.com.au/ are also laughably fake because you can tell just by looking and also they bear the brand 'Ugg' which Deckers own, so are not genuine Ugg Australia.

There may be Ugg style of boots that are very well made and what you or some people are looking for, and I never said you sacrificed on quality, I'm pleased your happy with yours. All I am trying to say was that anything with Ugg on its own is fake as Deckers own it and It should be Ugg Australia. Most people will see that and think they are genuine Ugg Australia by Deckers and unfortunately this is not the case.

If you bought the £55 boots from Hartings you did not buy chestnut Ugg boots, you bought an Ugg style of boot, you have to be careful of whats said as that is misleading. Someone could read that and think Hartings are selling Ugg's for £55. As soon as Ugg is mentioned 99% of people will auto think Ugg Australia. No you didnt buy fakes, but you didnt buy Ugg's either as I said, Decker's own the Ugg and Ugg Australia names.
  • I saw your earlier post about this, I ordered mine first thing this morning and it said black £136.... they said on my sorry email it was an admin error, so they should extend the discount for my circumstance really as it was their fault.....
got a 20% off code in Heat mag for office shoes, but it says some full price items are excluded, and its only for full priced office branded shoes....... ?

Yeah Office offer is for only Office brnaded shoes.

As for ASOS, contact them, esp if you've bought stuff before (it can be on their system) so say, along the lines of (if you've boguht before) "As you can see I love ASOS, and have been shopping here since...and as you know money's tight for everyone right now, always wanted Uggs and as a gesture of goodwill would you honour this offer" I think legally they may have to anyway; cannot remember but I rememeber working in clothing retail and if a customer found something marked down on the shop floor, we had to honour that price (if obv they'd not just written a reduction in themseves but here you could not have done).
If you've never bought form ASOS just be like, "I love ASOS but money is tight so when I saw this offer I jumped at the chance to become a customer, hopefuly buyhing more, please honour this offer" etc, you know where I am going with this...
  • PS I am rather wrecked, please forgive typos and PM me for clarification or just post here and I shall look when awake and sober!!

    Hi all,

I have a pair of short Chestnut Uggs in size 5 and would like a pair of the Oatmeal Cardy's.

The short Uggs are quite tight around my lower leg and there is not much room to tuck jeans in. Are the Cardy's any different size wise? I know there are there buttons so does this make them wider? I don't want to order them if they are the same width as then I will only be able to wear the same pair of jeans with both pairs!

    Thank you.
  • Hi All. just posting this again as was on late last night and not many ppl around online to help:

what are the shuddoo ones like???? Are they 100%%% real?? As (not being snobby), I only want real ones, and as they are for an xmas presie I dont want them to be fakes, I've had fakes before and they were rubbish
    Thanks.
Also, I email below to asos customer care re my refunded order as I orders 2x uggs tall classics in black size 5, they said avail on their site at that price now they say they have none.

Could I request that when you do get more UGG Australia Tall Classics in black size UK5, in stock (2 pairs required for christmas presents) that you could extend me the courtesey of the 20% off, you informed me that you were out of stock after I ordered them at £136 per pair. And the 20% discount ends this Friday, which I think is unfair as they were openly advertised on your website at this price as available.
This is the only colour I want as black goes with everything and I dont want to order a different colour if you do have others in stock.

    Awaiting your reply,
    Kind Regards,

This is the reply I got at 22.10

Thanks for getting in touch, and I'm sorry we couldn’t send you these items.
I've had a look into it, and unfortunately there was a computer error, meaning the website said it was in stock when it wasn't. When we came to pack your order, we discovered we were out of stock, so we have refunded what you paid for that item.
If the item you wanted does appear again on our site, please order it, then email me your order number and I'll refund your delivery charge.
After the offer has expired, we will be unable to extend the discounted price, so please do try to place the order again before Friday, if they show as available.
If there’s anything else I can help you with, please contact me straight away.
    Best Wishes,

What do you think??? Do I have any consumer rights as they were advertised in stock at that price when I bought them and paid online, they cant make me pay full price when they do get them in again??!!

  • Also after my email to say they were out of stock. I checked last night, they were right. it said next to size UK5 not available.
This morning when I check to see if its available they are in a size 5 but at £170, not £136. Only the sand and chocolate are included in the 20% off brands now......
Are they winding me up on purpose, I think they know the black ones sell well and dont want to sell me them at £136 like I ordered.
*****off to the email ASOS customer care in outrage.....*****

  • Sorry to keep posting, but I am mad!!!! GGGrrr

This is the email I have just sent ASOS customer care:

    Hi,

I received this email from Stacey last night re my refunded order.
She asked me to keep checking the site to see if they have replenished the stock of size UK5 Black tall Classic Uggs....
This morning I have checked, the colour (Black) and size (UK5) and amount (2 pairs) are showing as available but now at £170.00.
I placed my order yesterday morning at £136 each, please could you extend me this price now that you have them in stock, and the 20% off branded items discount does not end until tomorrow.

    Awaiting your reply,

    King Regards,

Cage, to some extent what you are saying is correct, but there is a lot of hoo ha over the Ugg name and who owns it.

Ugg is a generic term for the style of boot. They were being made in Australia for several years and worn by surfers. Then along came Deckers, worn by somebody famous and their label took off, making them 'the' label everybody wants, but along with that label came a whopping price tag!

If an Ugg boot is made in that style of real sheepskin upper and wool lining then they are an Ugg boot. They are not 'fake' but just an alternate brand. People who are not label conscious are getting just as good quality buying alternate brands from some companies but do risk them being regarded as fake when others see them, but they are not fakes just a lower more affordable label.

Lets not forget the Ugg originated in Australia hand made by family owned businesses and then along came Deckers who moved their manufacture to China and wiped out a lot of Aussies production. Because of this many Australians will only wear Uggs made in Australia and will not buy Deckers out of principle. I have a friend who searched high and low for Deckers Uggs in Oz and could only find them at the airport.

The sites you quote are selling 'fake' Deckers Uggs and they are the ones to be avoided.

Deckers start their Kids Ugg boots from around £85 compared to a company like Grommies selling the same quality boot for £24.99 sometimes there is an obvious reason why not to buy Deckers, in the case of kids boots they are hugely overpriced. My daughter is 17 months old and has the Ugg baby Boo which retail at around £40 (i got a much better deal of course :D )but once she goes into the bigger size range I would seriously feel I would be a complete nut to spend £85 on Deckers boots, (even with a code on shudoo they would be £65) when the Next version look just as good on kids and cost £13. I doubt people would be shouting 'fake' at her in the street. ;)

It is all down to personal preference, you like me only feel happy buying the Deckers Ugg Australia boot, but others are not so worried about the label.

As for Deckers owning the right to the name Ugg, I think they should make more effort to stop the counterfeit copies of their actual brand label before worrying about Australian companies making the boots they have made for years and using the name which actually stands for the boot they are making!
