My brother has bought some Ugg boots for his two year old from a good shop in leeds, they han a velcro strap across with the ugg australia logo on it, but when I looked at the inside lable it says " size USA M, made in China".
Do these sound like the real deal? They were £35.

Sounds like the Ugg Erin style. Google it and check. It seems like they are genuine to me having looked at them in the pics on here.

For anybody who may want just a sheepskin boot, and not particularly Ugg, Amazon uk have have Emu Australia Women's Stinger Hi Boot for just £59.39.
they also have a few other different pairs. I have seen these boots in the shops for £90, so saving of £30. They seem like a good boot too, so if you are not bothered about the UGG logo they may be a cheaper option for you.

Hi, just thought that i should offer my opinion on Emu versus Ugg. I am a bit of an addict for these type of boot and have them in many colurs, last year saw Kate Moss wearing black with cream sheepskin lining and knew that there were not UGG Australia, did some digging with the fashion police and they turned out to be Emu Australia. Had some sent from bona fide retailer in USA. They are wool lining inside not sheepskin, its like the difference between cheap lambswool and cashmere when on foot. Also the UGG boots has reinforced heels so no slouchy backs after a while. They are NOT waterproof, as found out when we went to the snowdome unlike the UGG australia. If you want for look and not for comfort and durability then do buy EMU as not too bad. But sole durability, sheepskin comfort, waterproof ability and hardiness- UGG Australia wins everytime. I have had some for 3 winters and still going strong!!!
Hope that this helps

I had a look for you on REI but they only have the blueprint in stock and in didi sizes.

I got my mother in law and friends ones on REI and mine from cozyboots. When you say little kiddies do you mean junior sizes? i did get baby ones from a seller on ebay but he has no more uggs. I have been trying to get some for my brother in law as a pressie for his OH but cant find any in stock now.
Did you get any duties or custom charges from buying from either of the two aforementioned sites?

Hi everyone I see some people have the same problem as I have just discovered.

I bought 4 pairs of ugg boots, from australiadirect.com, they are starting to appear as they are fake the more I read and see others in shops I am convinced they are fake now. How bad I now feel...!!

The ink rubs of onto you foot, and the label on the inside says made in Australia??

The soles even look different

I can't contact Australia Direct there phone number is not ringing and my e-mails just get returned. Luckily I used my credit card to buys these and they said if I get them confirmed as fakes and send them back they will refund the money and charge the amount back to them.

Does anyone know the address for Australia Direct or how I can get these boots confirmed as fakes?

Has anyone else claimed there money back from these con men??

All your help would be appreciated my email is katiephilip@o2.co.uk. :o

Thank you

Hi eveyone i finally got a reply from Australia Direct there excuss was the mail server was down.

Anyway happy with the result, they sent this back to me:

Hi Phillip,

I am very sorry that you are unhappy with the boots. They are the orginal UGG Australia Boots produced by Deckers. I am sorry but I believe that the information that Deckers never produced boots in Australia is wrong. They have recently stopped production but we still have some old stock left. These boots are primarily produced for the Australian market- as we no not like to by Chinese made UGG Australia boots.

If you got to www.uggaustralia.com and go to the Australian section then look at the bottom for the sign that says retail stores and click on that.

Look for stores in Footscray Melbourne Australia and the store called All Things Australian will come up.

If you go to there web site at www.allthingsaustralian.com.au and go to there UGG Australia Section you will see surprise surprise that they sell Australian and New Zealand made boots.

So there is a company in Australia that is on the UGG Australia web site that sells Australian and New Zealand made ones…I would say that is pretty official.

However- your boots appear to be faulty-

We are currently sold out of the Short Black 9 in Aussie, NZ or Chinese made.

I am happy to refund the orginal cost and the cost of returned poastage. Please send via the cheapest mail back (best bet seamail). Please keep the receipt scan and email to us and I shall credit your card the cost of postage.

I hope this works thigs out for all parties. Please reply to tenaya@australiadirect.com

Thanks,

Am sending the boots off tomoz, glad i will be getting my money back and they will pay for the postage to cover sending them back.

Am just going to buy some from office or direct from Deckers. :T

:rotfl: All Things Australian is actually owned by the same people that operate the aussiedirect website :rotfl:

Not all Emu's are the same. The Emu Stinger boots are made of sheepskin and have a reinforced heel, they feel the same as Ugg Australia boots when wearing them, almost comfier in fact. There are cheaper Emu boots with wool linings called Bronte. I think those must be the ones you have had.
