    hi all,

    just querying are these genuine

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sand-Classic-Tall-us-7-Uk5-Ugg-boots_W0QQitemZ280182389097QQihZ018QQcategoryZ63889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have emailed seller to ask her if genuine uggs and all she said was "yes" and also asked for more photos but said she was busy with her son! what do you think, genuine or not by the photo??

I would say no, but photo isnt clear enough to tell the detail only seen close up, and you cant be guaranteed its sellers own pic, if she said no to more pics then dont bother, if I wanted to sell an item of that value I'd be as helpful as possible! :p
  • Hi,

I am also looking to see if anybody on here can help me with an ebay query.

I am looking to buy 2 pairs of genuine Ugg Australia boots made by Deckers. I have been on the wii forums for a few weeks now and helped me bag a wii for my other halfs christmas, now i need to bag 2 pairs of Classic Tall Ugg Boots in Sand, one for me and one for my sister. I am looking for UK sizes 3 and 5.

I know there are so many fakes around and to be honest i probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference but i really dont want to be ripped off, so i hope you guys can help me.

This ebayer has both the sizes im looking for in the correct colour but i am not sure of autheticity.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350004730716&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

I asked if they were real ugg boots made by deckers and his response was yes they are authentic boots, but does that mean they are authentic uggs or authentic deckers?!

Also if these are not authentic, does anyone know where i may be able to get the ones i require, i am not bothered about getting mine for christmas, but i would love to see my sisters face is she gets these for crimbo!!

Thanks in advance, I know everyone is really busy, especially at this time of year, and i really appreciate any help.

I'd be very wary of the fact that she's using the same stock photo for every pair of boots she has for sale. Great idea about asking her for more pics of the actual boots but if she doesn't supply them I would steer well clear.

My gut instinct is that this guy is genuine and I seem to recall looking at his stuff some months ago so it's not like he's just jumped on the bandwagon, but will do a bit more digging around and get back to you.

OK, time to burst some bubbles in the hopes of getting some of these boots CHEAP in time for Xmas!!

The thing you have to remember here about buying on eBay from UK Sellers is, so I have read, retailers who sell the Deckers Brand have to sign an agreement that they will not sell for less than RRP on eBay - this protects the brands name!!

You also have to wonder that if the likes of Office and other major UK retailers cannot get more Ugg stock, and if Ugg Australia themselves do not have any more stock until Feb, how can 'Joe Bloggs eBay store' get more stock than they can shake a stick at and knock it out for peanuts??

From a retailers point of view (and I am a retailer), if the manufacturer does not have it then we cannot get it - unless of course it has not come from the manufacturer and then you have to wonder why no other reputable retailer in the UK can get them other than those for sale on eBay!! if someone is selling the odd pair and states they have bought the wrong size, etc... and have not sold more than just the odd pair then I would go for it. Mind you there as one the other day locally that I was going to buy and then I realised about 2 minutes before the end that they certainly were fake uggs so I did not bother bidding on it.

Oh, and the first link, she has spelt Australian wrong - maybe this was intentional!! Just a thought!!

The other one above again I am dubious of as well. £60 off the RRP?? At Xmas time?? Please!! There is no way any retailer would cut £60 off their profit at this time of year - especially on a product that the whole of the UK is clambouring for. If it was me I would be adding another £50 on and putting the 'Best Offer' icon on it. as some will want it NOW rather than waiting. They are running a business after all.

Let me explain, there tends to be a 2.2 mark up on the goods if you buy them from the manufactuer and they set the RRP but you don;t have to abide to this unless the manufacturer specifies it - and some do, if we sell for less our accounts get taken away form us and we can no longer sell that brand. So, something costing £160 on the high street would generally cost around £75 from the supplier. Why would you only want (BEFORE FEES of around £10 on something selling for £100) just £20 profit when you can make £80 or more? In the item on the first link there is 4 available in this size. So that is profit they want to make of £40 after paying fees of £10 each one, rather than making around £250 after fees!! No, tht should ring bells right away. none of us want to pay full price for these boots but if you don't then you are not going to get genuine boots. Sorry but that is just the way it is.

I have said it before and I'll bore you with it again. These boots are the most sought after item in the UK (OK, maybe after the Wii)/ you don;t find the Wii for sale at £100 do you - more like £400 this time of year!! If it is too good to be true then it usually is!! There is a difference in knocking a few quid off an item to be competetive but to knock £60 in profit off an item that is supposed to be costing £160 then alarm bells should be ringing guys!! At this time of year expect to pay RRP or more and if they are not listed at around the correct RRP then they WILL be fakes. Whether you can tell or not is going to be the 'clincher'. Sorry to disllusion you all but that is just the way it is I am afraid. The best way is to get from the US but it really is too late for that now as the last guarenteed date for posting has well and truely gone.

This one has a comment that it was 2 weeks delivery.... maybe, just maybe they are from China and some are shipped from there if they run out over here.

Oh, just another thing. I used to work on one of the biggest UK Markets and you would not evenbeleive what items can be faked, I have seen everything for sale and nothing surprises me anymore. Most people would not know they are buying a fake and unless you know the product in and out it is sometimes virtually impossible to tell.

If they are from China do you think they would be authentic? I emailed the seller again and asked if they were definately made in China and Authentic, and he replied yes these are deckers Made in China. Sorry if i seem picky but if they are the real deal i will purchase asap, if not i will just have to not get myself a pair and pay that bit extra for my sisters christmas, cant keep affording to buyall these christmas must haves, lol.

    Thanks again

    Hiya,

Yes I do understand what you mean as I felt the same myself but I do not *think* these are the real deal. yes they are made in China but as has been pointed out the other day, the labels have eve started to be faked and this used to be the tell tale sign. He has bought 2 pairs of Uggs from other people - they are on his feedback as a buyer. Why? They are too cheap. Why? The latest feedback states each boot was a different colour and had to be returned for a replacement.

I still think they are too cheap to be authentic Deckers in all honesty. I'll stick by what i said that no retailer that is worth anything will sell these for such little profit. of course, they could be 'knocked off' so all their money is profit - but that is a different story. Maybe someone can dig out whether this company is 'proper' as they have sold 300 pairs in 3 months and that equates to around 40k in 'earnings' and therefore they must be registered somewhere unless they are going to sell for 3 months and then not declare anything and 'disappear' then you have no compebac if they are faulty.

They certainly can be made in China - as most things are these days - but that does not mean they are Deckers Uggs and authentic. If you are unsure then don't buy them - get them from the stores in the US on eBay that has been trading for a long time (that guy has been trading for just a few months) and then you'll know what you are getting in the real thing. It might just mean that you have to wait a little longer for them. that is the trouble - the fakes these days are getting so good that you really won't know what you have.

I guess I've not been much help here to be honest. I'd say see if you can find a couple of indipendants, people who have bought the wrong size and buy from them. ask if you can see their purchase receipts if they are claiming they just bought the wrong size. I have some and I'd be happy to share where I got mine from as I just want to recoup what I paid for them, and lets be honest, we all know how much they cost everywhere else now anyway. if people want to pay me more because they want them then that is a bit of a bonus!!
