hello everyone...i'm new but have been following these posts for a few days!
I really , really need some uggs!:j
i have tried rei.com an taylor shoes but neither have got my size (i want tall chestnut in a size 6/ uk4)
sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone know anywhere else good, with genuine uggs with a reliable service that is still cheap? (i know I want too much!!!)
hope you can help x0 -
you still pay customs/vat even if its a gift over £18, but as I said before, there is no vat on kids footwear size up to uk 5.5 / us7.
This is what I thought but it is wrong.
I called the VAT office today and this is not right - I even questioned them saying they were kids boots for my children to wear, not boots I was inporting to sell (I have a VAT registered business you see and they could see my details - I am not buying them to sell and did not want to be charged different). They told me that the rate is 17% duty PLUS 17.5% VAT on childrens UGGS from the US. Slightly ramps the price up a bit if you end up paying but I wanted to confirm, might be better to go ith the site offering to pay the Duty for you if this is the case. I think the ladies are going to be too big for me having done the foot measurement on the website so I need the kids ones but there do not seem to be many places that have them in black. I thought they were VAT free and was trying to see if they would charge me duty on them but it seems they charge both if they can. I am worried about Fed Ex dealing with the package though if the value is noted.0 -
Can I ask how REI delivered your boots (was it Fed Ex?) and how long ago, it can take a few weeks for them to bill the charges through from them so I am trying to determine whether or not the duty charges are going to follow later. Can I ask what the declaration said on the package. Many thanks.0

Hi, I got my tall chestnut UGGs from www.hartings.co.nz and mine are 100% genuine, they seem to have your size in stock as I've just looked at the website. My credit card was charged £106.95 and there were no customs taxes to pay as they were delivered by parcelforce. They put a low value on the outside and said it was a gift. They took just under 2 weeks to arrive and I was so pleased I ordered a second pair in black which are due to be delivered this week :j .
I hope this helps0 -

I don't think this is true as I paid with my debit card.0 -

If you have a Nationwide credit card they don't charge for foreign transactions. My husband has one, so I used his as I don't have one!!0
