    From the BT website:

    Please note: All customers who upgrade to a faster product will start a new 12-month contract. Please ensure that you are permitted to make this commitment.

    Hmmm, this certainly applies to Business users (like me) but it looks like it doesn't to residential, I'm going to ring them tomorrow to find out

    Changing your broadband service from BT

    34. You may change from your existing service to another broadband service from us (the new service) free of charge twice in any 12-month period. If you make any further changes we may charge you.

    35. If you change your service, we will change the minimum period for your agreement as follows:

    a) If the minimum period for your existing service has passed, a new minimum period of three months will apply to the new service.

    b) If the minimum period for your existing service has less than three months left to run, then we will add a new minimum period of three months to the new service;

    c) If the minimum period for your existing service has more than three months left to run, the period left will be the minimum term for the new service.

    Does the new 3 month contract apply if you move house (I've been given a new customer reference number by BT)

    And if BT upgrade you broadband speed when you haven't requested it?
