Dating these days seems a minefield tbh, I was on a few websites a number of years back and whilst good for chatting actually going out and meeting people proved rather difficult and I put this down to people living in a virtual world.

I would see it this way if the first date went well enough for both people then something should be said at the end of the date like would you fancy doing this again soon, If the answer is no then move along, If you didn't pluck up the courage to ask and neither did your date then ask via text the later on, Not a week later though.

The thing I see with online dating is that whilst a lot of sites have many people on them who claim to be searching for love they are quite superficial and drawn to looks alone which yes people will do but if you met in public I would say this would not be the only factor involved when you choose to like someone.

I also believe that the likes of tinder and sites of a similar nature are making online dating more difficult to due to expectations of sex on the first date, Saying this when I was on some sites I did get a few request to be an fb and even asked to join a couple lol.
  • In fairness I think he tried to write cafe, not caff. This website doesn't like letters with accents!
A coffee shop is not a caf!

A caf is typically a small place people go for a cheap fried breakfast, usually filled with tradesmen (in London anyway.) Even though it's technically short for 'cafe', the two are quite different and it's telling you said 'caf'.

A coffee shop is way posher than a caf. :D And much more suitable for a first date (though I'd be quite impressed if someone offered to take me to a proper caf that cooked a good breakfast - none round here sadly!)

For a second date, I'd like an easy but scenic walk and afternoon tea & cake.
  • Yes I tried to write cafe but it was a very nice comfy independent coffee shop.

Thank you for suggestions so far.

I will ask again by text later today (and that will be the final time!). We were born a day apart and maybe that explains both our slightly aloof behaviour. ..If you believe that sort of thing. ..or maybe were both laid back :p

Bowling - good for comedy effect, especially if you're both quite rubbish at it.

Whatever you do, do not suggest the cinema. I've never understood going on a date, especially in the early days, to sit in a dark hall with a bunch of other people, not being able to talk and get to know each other.

Ask her if she'd like to come up and see your etchings.

Why not just pick up the phone and speak to her? I'm sure texting has it uses but this doesn't seem to be one of them.

Perhaps they are not as posh you Missbiggles. :cheesy:
