That is quite naive, and unfortunately all too common a view. Not everybody is large because they eat too much or do not exercise enough, for some it is for quite serious medical reasons.
i'm not trying to put that point across - didn't mean that at all: it's not something i buy into, but i can understand the point of view even if i don't subscribe to it! but if plus sizes are the same price, seems unfair that bigger bras aren't!

Don't most shop sell smallish bras (up to 34C)?

I know there are more chubby birds about these days but there must be a reason why shops only sell the smaller sizes?

I've recently discovered that Tesco have a range for *ahem* the fuller bust (I know it definitely goes up to a H cup). I've bought bras there recently for £6 in the sale which were originally £12 so an absolute bargain - and they have matching knickers for a reasonable price!

  • I'm a fan of Bravissimo, their shops are such a lovely shopping experience - loads of stock, great tops/clothing range for big b00bies, and really helpful staff. However I am also a fan of the Debenhams 'gorgeous' range. They are not too badly priced, and if you hang on for a blue cross sale you can pick up some real bargains - I got 4 bras, 3 of which I managed to get matching pants for around £50. I know that is £50 is a lot all in one go, but I have been known to have to pay £25-£30 for one bra in the past to get a decent fit.

having a larger chest DOES NOT mean you are chubby!! I am a size 10/12 and happen to have a large cup size (that is well above a D!). I personally struggle to get bras that fit in supermarkets and some department stores as they don't do my cup size in a 32 back size - which is a bit rubbish really!

The only positive point is that things are a hell of a lot better now than they were even 5 years ago - I think since Bravissimo took off, lots of other retailers want a chunk of their market, so hopefully more and more shops will start doing bigger bras too.

  • TK Maxx usually have a range of sizes quite cheap and Debenhams own stuff is good, especially at Sale time. ASDA do a larger range, mind you it is endorsed by the repulsive Jordan and looks really cheap and tacky (no surprise!).

Ignore the tape measure ladies. Find a bra you like. Try on the size you think you are and adjust from there. Too much fabric on the cup go down a cup size. Four boob overspillage go up a cup size. The back should fasten on the loosest (tighten when elastcity goes) hooks and should not ride up (go down a size) ir pinch (go up a size). Takes a bit of time but you'll get there with a better fit than going by the stated sizes. I recently bought 3 bras from Debenhams own range, all very similar styles and ended up buying 3 sizes; 34DD, 32E and 30F. The sizes I take as a guidline much like any other clothing item. Bra shopping just takes a bit of time and determination.

Sorry, didn't mean to infer that all birds with a fuller chest have a fuller figure as well.

After having a baby a week ago, my missus is now 32F, but she seems to have had good luck with M&S bras, admittedly nursing bras, but she seems happy with them and they wern't all that expensive (not that I was paying much atention).

As a man there's noting worse than being dragged around the smalls dept...

Congratulations Dave & Mrs Dave :T

My other half never complains about shopping, and I like a good mooch as I don't get out much :rotfl: , however, first thing I do is look for the "hubby chair" and quite a few places have one. I find M & S in LLandudno quite funny, on their ladies' wear floor there is a line of about 6 chairs near the escalator and it's always full of hubbies.
