It annoys me that people pay the same for their size 20 trousers as I do for my 8's or 10's!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

amplebosom is good - they can be expensive but have stuff in the sale most of the time'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

i can just about see a line of arguement for bigger clothes costing more as people could be seen as 'responsible' for being that size - although if you're excessively tall you often already have to shop at specialist stores anyway where you have to pay more, but if you're just a normal height but quite large, you can can get what you want anywhere. i resent paying more for bras though - nothing i can do will get them smaller! i lost a stone and a half in weight and the bra size stayed the same!! i just really can't help it (although since discovering bravissimo i'm much happier that i'm not stuck in horrible minimisers!). the price increase is also pretty substantial - cheap smaller bras start at £5 but for those of us who are well endowed, £15 is an absolute bargain.....
i don't buy bras often, but i but pretty good quality ones when i do, and as long as they don't go in the washing machine that often (should handwash all the time, i know!), they do last a long time.:happyhear0 -
I know what you mean Melancholly. I still haven't lost all that I gained during pregnancy.
Some of the ones I have had off ebay have been really good, others not so good. Fortunately the ones that were not so good when I was pregnant because they 'gave'.
But where can you get scaffolding at a decent price?
I always hand wash mine, I am not sure what would happen in the washing machine.
I once got a cheap bra (actually paid a fortune in a posh shop, but it felt cheap), wore it the first day, one of the underwires started coming up the centre of my bust! I looked down and there was a peak in the centre of my chest! I wasn't sure if I was in a scene from Aliens or about to pick up Radio Aire! It just kept getting higher and higher! I tried taping it in and pushing it down, but the rest of the office was in hysterics. The trouble I had persuading the posh shop for a refund! They seemed to think that a growing third boob was a minor inconvenience compared to being allowed to shop on their premises. :rotfl:Always another chapter0 -
The price of underwear has come down a lot in our generation, and we think it normal to have loads of bras whereas our mums and nannas probably had two or three or a couple of corsets/girdles.

I have to pay more for 'tall' versions of trousers in most shops, and it's usually around £2, so I don't think paying more for larger bra sizes is unreasonable.
Lots of things are cheaper online, I don't think it's outrageous for a high street store. I have size 8 feet and routinely have to pay £5 - 7 more for larger shoes - they use more leather, after all. I grin and bear it, there are worse things to endure!0 -
I found that you can get some pretty good prices and a reasonable choice of bras on ebay if you buy from american sellers. You have to be a bit careful though as their sizing is slightly different to ours, just buy one cup size up, for e.g. I am a H cup so I have to buy an american I cup.
Even with postage I never pay more than £15 for a bra, the exact same bra from uk sellers or uk companies would cost £35 (and that's before postage )0 -

That is quite naive, and unfortunately all too common a view. Not everybody is large because they eat too much or do not exercise enough, for some it is for quite serious medical reasons.Gone ... or have I?0 -
It's not the excess material used, it's how much material is wasted after a certain size is cut! The more material wasted, the more expensive the bra is to make!
Ditto for short/small clothes sometimes - you may be saving material, but the way they're cut out means that the spare material isn't enough to make anything else, thus it doesn't make any difference in price.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
ANOTHER vote for Brastop, for londoners they have an outlet in Victoria station shopping bit ( BY the ann summers/ sainsburys at the back ) adn baker st station ( if its still there)
can you get to outlet villages? Mysister is a g cup and gets most of hers from outlets villages ( charnos, bravissimo) and TK MAXX:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
