Money Moral Dilemma: Who should pay for my non-refundable concert tickets?

I wouldn't go to a concert over my sister's wedding - even if the wedding was arranged after the concert tickets were bought. A proper friend wouldn't expect me to either but would simply sell the tickets on and not try and guilt trip me.
Honestly - what kind of person would expect a close friend to put a pop concert before a family wedding ??????I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Without being there you don't know how she worded it or the tone used etc. I have had a few occasions where a friend has said "oh, we must do something for your birthday/near Christmas/whatever" in a very vague distracted way. I have later found out they thought they had made a definite date! Whenever I have arranged expensive surprises I have always asked them if that date was free before booking it and then told them they absolutely must keep that date free because something very special would be happening.0
