Third load of washing dry and put away.

Cut the back grass, the front can wait until tomorrow - it's too hot out the front now. I can't settle to anything now.

Oh my goodness me - I didn't realise DD had so much clothing :o Okay, about half of it is in larger sizes (due to a bargain purchase on ebay :money: ) but I'm just discovering that some of the larger stuff has adjustable waists so I'm seeing if they will go small enough and then either boxing or washing them :D My rule of "if I can pull it down then it's too big" is not going down too well with DD but I know how roughly she can play  We'll need to go shopping this weekend for some bits and her shoe collection is finally shrinking :j But I'm going to impose a "only if she needs it" rule now except for Christmas as she's got more clothes that fit her than me and OH put together and thats saying something! Plus people seem to forget that for 7 (and sometimes more) hours a day, 5 days a week she's in school in her uniform so doesn't need the entire Next & Clarks collection

I still need to find something to do for tea - I'm thinking of just bubble & squeak (left over veg from the past 2 nights;):money: ), maybe with some salad or something, won't do us any harm to have a meat-free meal for a change ;) Right, timer has gone off again so I best go and get through the end of this last box

Nicki I've had to do the same with my boys clothes, each one had over 20 school shirts and more tshirts than that aswell, must be 30-40 tshirts each, plus 20+ long sleeved ones, I've also imposed a ban on myself, they get what they NEED now, DS1 changing schools has mean't different coloured shirts so that's an extra plus what he needs that have school logo on are ordered to collect on his first day. DS2 got 3 new pairs of bottoms, new PE shoes and shoes because he went up a size...that's all as he has enough of the rest, they only wreck them the first week they wear them anyway.

Still working through that 'stuff' I had to put on my bed, one massive basket emptied which is a big pop up laundry one, that's going in the boys room!
One day I might be more organised...........

pollybear - thats awful, thank goodnes you spotted it. Anyone I know who has had a fraud thing like that has had the money refunded so I'm sure youwill be ok. And dont go blaming yourself or thinking there's something you could have done, they can nick \your card details in shops and restaurants and all sorts these days. I hope they get it sorted for you soon, its just not fair that some other little b can make you worry so.

lil_me - I am so impressed that they gave you smoke alarms rto top up with. Thats great. Well done with the big hall clearout etc, even if there is a pile on your bed I bet your hall looks great now!

Talking of smoke alarms etc I am watering my neughbours plants while they are on hols, went in today and its all a bit weird. someone else has been in and lifted their post  may be a parent or other neighbour ? Anyway there is s carbon monoxide detector plugged into the plug near the door, I'm sure it wasnt there last week but then maybe the reason I noticed it today was because it is beeping. Says "L6" ad beeps every 30 seconds. I have no idea what to do now. Do I switch off their gas at the mains ? And where do I do that anyway ? Will ask hubby when he gets home, but not sure really.

Meant to say my first Asda delivery arrived last night. I am not an online food shopping "virgin" having used Tesco in the past, but Tesco always seemd to have tons of substitutions etc , but the Asda delivery was 100% spot on! It was booked for 7-9 last night and he arrived on the dot of 7. He explained the recepit thingy, there were no subs and nothing that was unavailable or whatever. Hubby was home so he was able to carry the heavy stuff like milk (9 x 4 pts!!!) into the kitchen for me. I am dead chuffed. Although somewhat typically at some point yesterday afternoon I received a free delivery coupon via email. Oh well will use next week. Also received an emailp telling me if its a shop over £100 I get free delivery with my Asda credit card. I normally use GEMoney for Asda as this gets 3% cashback but its being discontinued so its good to know in future that delivery can be free for me :T

Have had a good day so far. Done some random flying and a few other bits:

    - got kids up and dressed and breakfasted
    - made packed lunch to take tfor after creche
    - put away yesterdays washing - mostly bibs and muslins for baby
    - tidied kitchen
    - put on washing of jumpers found in DD preschhol bag - yuck!
    - decluttered bedroom
    - had lovely hour of peace in cafe whilst kids in creche
    - had packed lunches
    - went to Focus to buy more matchpots of paint
    - put DD down for a sleep thank goodness, she is a misery guts today
    - hung washing out on clothes horse (raining here - bah)
    - put wash on of winter coat (all these winter threads getting to me) and DD preschool bag
    - packed hospital bag :j
    - filed some paperwork in spare room
    - dusted our bedroom and spare bedroom

Looks like a lot but isnt really.

    To do:
    - slap on matchpots to DS wall and decide on colour
    - unpack packed lunch bag
    - check checklist for hospital bag, feeling paranoid!
    - make a start labelling DS clothes

Am sitting at kitchen table "helping" DS do play doh. Must get some food I am ravenous! Right going to start these school things they wont label themselves.

JillD I would ask hubby too sounds a little scary, keep an eye open for whoever has been in so you could ask them is another option, unless they are home early, don't you be going back in there until you find out what it is either, just incase! Last thing you need collapsing with carbon monoxide poisoning. If your hunny can't see what it means get the make and give them a call to ask. Make sure you check the ASDA discounts thread before ordering aswell. With the fire alarms I am unsure if they do it in all areas but they do offer to do this free here for everyone, they even fit them aswell.

**Edit just had a quick look online and says on the sites I have found to get appliances checked if CM alarm is beeping, sounds like it's found something, please don't go back in Jill until you find out**

  • Hi to everyone!
Just managed to squeeze a bit of 'me' time with the computer - having turfed DD1 off of 'Club Penguin' - the latest craze in Year 5! Tuna & pasta bake for tea and BM on too. Am definately going to label uniforms tonight - if you see me on here later - turf me off!! Am also planning to do a big cook this weekend on lasagnes and things that freeze well to get me a head start when we all go back to school. Any ideas where I can get containers to freeze lasagnes for the 5 of us?? Will also hit the kitchen hot spots tonight!

I'm coming to the conclusion that we may have to get rid of our oldest hen. She is just too noisey with all her crowing and squawking - especially as it started just after 8 this morning  and we live in the suburbs, not in the country. Fortunately we know some folk who live out in the middle of nowhere and they already have hens - so we might see if they will take her. I'll give her another week to get used to the younger hens laying - but if she doesn't clam down she'll have to go  .

    Have a good day all.

    7WW

I hope you find a good home for her.I'd take her but we are probably miles away from you. I have an old hen of about 6 years old and she was a pain, kept attacking the youngsters so i got more younger ones. She has really quietened down. We had a couple of cockerels who thought they would like to live in our garden, we soon got rid of them-4.15 the crowing started:rotfl:

Lil_me, A visit from the fire brigade sounds like a good idea. My brother started lighting things when he was three. Terrified us loads of times. (He's 50 now so has probably grown out of it).

I am not really doing so well at flying at present. Unless you can call organising others flying.

On top of everything I managed to hurt my back, probably clearing up after the chewing dog yesterday and now I can hardly move. So I have delegated lots of jobs around the house. Dad is still really poorly but he is so far away I feel quite helpless. I have been phoning and writing though.

DH and I are going out for dinner tonight so I don't have to cook. The rest of them are big enough and old enough to fend for themselves. The menu plan says curry for tonight. I'll even leave them a recipe. 25 days till they are back at university etc.:j
