Meant to say earlier, my pans came up lovely after a long bath, might have to give them another go as the bottoms are still a little burned looking.

Off to find some supper and start the baking. Chocolate hobnobs and maybe a lemon 'dribble' cake.

  • You are all sounding very industrious this evening!!! I was about to break open a bar of choccie and flop in front of the telly!! Now am feeling bad that I should be doing something. I guess I could start with the name tapes for new uniform - that should be quite easy! (I could be really kind and take the name tapes that say DD1 out of the clothes going to DS1 - although in his class last year - 3 of the children had gym kits in the name of their older siblings!!) Luckily in a small school the teachers know all the families! I did manage to bake some flapjacks today - i had better check that they haven't gone off in their tupperware container by sampling a few for quality control purposes you understand!

    Evening everyone.

tartan mum i remember you - was not that long ago i asked where you were.

hev shame about the diet coke. you were doing so well. but if you get back onboard here you may get back on track again. ;)

I am absolutely shattered after our day out. We were up till about midnight sorting out the picnic, and then awake from about 7am with Charlie. We had a fab time, and got some lovely piccies of Charlie with his cousins, and it amazed me how much Charlie has developed since we went last in July. He was able to enjoy the day a lot more, and DH had a great time amazingly, as with my sisters and their friend as well we were a bit giggly and girly. ;)

I have perked up a bit since eating, but i am unnaturally tired at the minute. DH was worried about me particularly with going back to work as well, but i think it is the stress/lack of sleep/worrying about getting everything done now the routine has intensified.

    Anyway, achieved today:
    • WM - load of DHs stuff this am
    • sandwichs made for picnic
    • dining table wiped
    • rest of baking stuff from last night washed up
    • all picnic stuff packed into a bag
    • car seat put into DH's car
    • car loaded
    • drove to place
    • ran around all day with the kids
    • came home
    • bathed charlie
    • fed him his bottle
    • unsuccessfully tried to cut his fingernails but it didn't work as he was far too tired and wriggly
    • DH brought towels in from TD
    • and put his stuff in TD
    • DH made us a cup of tea and put Charlie in bed
    • We ordered a chinese,
    • DH went to pick it up, and also went to supermarket for bread and milk
    • I packed bag for nursery for Charlie tomorrow
    • and a bag for swimming tomorrow
    • and a bag for me for work (remembering to put in my filing cabinet key
    • folded towels and put away in airing cupboard
    • sorted another load of washing and loaded in the WM for tomorrow morning
    • made a drink for me to take to work tomorrow
    • laid out Charlie's clothes for nursery tomorrow
    • car seat back in my car for tomorrow
still got bottles to make up for tomorrow, but will be leaving Dh to it fairly soon and going and getting in the bath.

Tomorrow i should hopefully get a bit more done at work as i will probably be the only one in the department. So 31/2 hours to get on.

Must also remember Charlie left his toy monkey at nursery the other day so i need to retrieve it as it is one of his favourites, and luckily he hasn't noticed it missing yet.

Too tired to think at the minute, but i will also be out most of tomorrow, and will be taking Charlie to swimming and visiting my parents so will be out till at least 7:30. So i will see you all tomorrow evening.

Not managed the full list for today, as we have been out for most of it but at least the room is tidied, polished and hoovered.

Now about to order a shop to hopefully be delivered tomorrow ( may have left it too late but hopefully not) I have sorted out most meals for the next two weeks and have what seems like a huge shop list but I'm sure it's not - don't normally do a fortnights shop at once but trying to really stick to the budget this month.

Jill - hopefully you won't have much longer to wait, my midwife always went by the rule that a baby would appear at the most awkward moment possible.

lil_me - sorry to hear about fire incicdent this afternoon, well done with getting someone fromthe fire dept to come out hopefully hearing the dangers from someone else will mean it sinks in better.

mumoftwo - could I have your receipe for turkey mince meatballs, I have been wanting to try these for a while but have never made meatballs before.[/quote]

Hya, I am not great with exact measurements in recipes but this is what I normally do:

mix turkey mince with one peeled grated apple (gives a bit of sweetness)
a bit of onion granules (kids don't like bits of onion in their meatballs)
    salt and pepper
I don't use breadcrumbs or egg
I roll them into small balls, fry them to brown a bit, shaking the pan to turn them, for a few minutes, then I add :
    tin of chopped tomatoes
grates carrots (makes sauce less tart and adds vege)
chopped onion (kids don't mind onion in sauce)
I use marigold vegetable stock powder but any vege stock cube will do

simmer for at least 15 minutes or longer, stir occasionally

I serve it with mashed potatoes, or pasta

kids love it, they are lovely and soft

You can add chili powder, garlic, I have also added some curry powder which also went down well. Can you tell, I am an experimental cook??:D

    Right today I got:-

Lounge all done, furniture moved and hoovered under - where do the crumbs come from - oh yeah little fingers missing big mouths lol

    S & S kitchen
    Hoovered through
    S & S bathroom
    Made curry
    Done driving lesson
    Put Mr T shop away
Played chase all over the house with littles - thats my workout done today!

We are meant to have a dry day tomorrow so I have at least 2 loads no 3 'cos its master bedroom so bedding needs doing too! So that means loads of ironing.

    Also need/want to:

    S & S kitchen, lounge and bathroom
    Hoover though
    Make onion & chive rolls
    Do workout dvd
Make jam and lemon meringue tarts with littles
Do some crafty thing with littles or go out if not raining (getting cabin fever!)

Watched that undercover mum on ITV tonight, was very interesting especially all the E-numbers - does anyone know anywhere that you can print of a comprehensive list of ones to avoid for children (and adults too)?

    Night night all

Lil_me - I think you did the right thing with your son sometime a short sharp shock does the trick where 1/2 hours ranting and shouting has not effect. Good to know that the fire brigade will sent someone out. Am hoping I never have to do this for my two but good to know.

JillD - you have my sympathy, everyone tells you to "get your rest now you'll need it when the baby is here", yeah well if I didnt get cramp, need to pee every hour and find it hard to breath then that sounds like a fab idea! Hang on in there hun not long to go, maybe all the flying will get things going a bit early.

Well, have finally had a chance to get back on the PC. I'm very pleased with my new £10 haircut - nearly as good as my usual hairdresser as it was supervised throughout by an experienced hairdresser who did bits of it for the trainee, and they even had a massage chair for when I was having my hair shampood which was nice. Have told them that if they need me again, to just give me a call, so hopefully I'll be getting some more cheap haircuts in the future even if they do take nearly 2 hours to do! lol

Had dinner at MIL's - very nice roast followed by strawberry cheesecake, but I don't know what it is about her cooking, but I never feel filled up. May have to do some baking this week if I get a chance - got some oats in the cupboard that are screaming flapjacks at me.

Have work tomorrow at 11.30, so should just have time to change the sheets and put a load of washing on. I managed to dust and hoover the bedroom yesterday, so am ahead on that.

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to lil_me - the flat is really starting to look a lot better thanks to your lists, and am starting to feel proud of it rather than being ahamed to have anyone round. It's still got a long way to go - mainly convincing OH that the flat is not a garage for all of his DIY stuff, but it looks 100% better than it did.

Take care everyone, especially you Jill. Sweet dreams!

    Sexymouse xx
