Thanks for the birthday messages, and song
lovely, unfortunately has turned into a bit of a nightmare day, will explain.
List is now up for tomorrow as we're out this evening at car club thing.
I posted the list but then could smell something, my son had got a lighter and set a piece of paper in his bedroom, one of his little friends who I caught burning stuff the other day is obsessed with fire, seems this has rubbed off on my son who has never done anything like this before. Considering he's 6 I've probably been awfully mean and showed him images of severely burned people, explaining it's what could happen. A friend has a little boy with 3rd degree burn scars and skin grafts on his legs because of the same think but he was only 4 at the time. I just couldn't think of any other way to get through to him as telling him he wasn't allowed to play with this boy as he was setting fires just didn't sink in. Just don't know what to do with him. I might ring the local fire station and ask for advice.
Hugs to all who are having nightmares with kids at the moment, I know how you feel. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Ooooh I'm so excited for you Jill - I love other people having babies!
Right DS2 fed, going to take 2 pain killers as headache not shifting and then do 30 minutes before the others get back from swimming.
Hugs lil-me I can offer no advise, my kids love our open fire and a bonfire but I hope would never think of starting one.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
That's what has started this it would seem, other kids seeing bonfires, that is what they say they are building bonfires.
Been in touch with fire station they are sending someone out tomorrow to speak to him I thinkOne day I might be more organised...........

I hope the fire station can help - let us hope they don't send round a fire engine and make the whole thing rather exciting, sure they wouldn'tThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Hi all,
Welcome back Tartan Mum and Hev and welcome to two new faces ( to me in anycase)Carlih and Vanilla. Hope it works for you on here!
Lovely late August evening here :rotfl: Actually the sky has been about 10ft from the ground all day long and I've got the fire on for half an hour until I make a start and warm up.
Can I just say I kinda like having the 30 minute challenge named after me and I do find it's my best way of working (more of a stick than a carrot girl I think) but Lil_me invented it by banishing me one day, I did ask for it though! And I'll always join in when someone starts one!
JillD, I hope your baby comes soon too, you sound more than ready and I love knowing new babies have been born. (Is 42 too old to start feeling broody d'y think? Please say yes, skint and single!)
Tracyg, that's not as unsettling as I thought it would be. I've always thought that folks who are believing/receptive to that kind of thing don't mind that it happens and folks who aren't, well it doesn't happen to them so there's nothing to fear either way. Always polite to say thanks when I find a lost thing quickly or something runs smoothly I think!
Lil_me, that was a good idea getting someone from the fire service to come out for a chat and good of them to come too. It might just do the trick if they know how to approach it with young children. Completely changing the subject but let us know if he's a 'Calendar Fireman' you know the sort I mean.
I've got a day off tomorrow to visit my friend from Germany who's over to see her folks for a week (I'll be over your way Poohbear if I don't have to dash to Durham for a gawp at firemen instead) so I've got some baking to do tonight too.
Have a useful evening, enjoy the rest of your birthday lil_me. I might be back later. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

JillD I know just how you feel. I remember it well! Those last and final stages of pregnancy everybody tells you: "oh hon, just enjoy it!"
And all I could think of was: "get this child OUT!" :rotfl:
You have every right to sit down at any possible moment during the day! Good grief girl, you are about to give birth! Give yourself a break!
Lil_me WOW!! I'll bet you had a good scare! Seeing your youngster play with fire is not good for a mother's heart! I'm afraid I did it too you know, when my kids played with fire.. I let them watch a documentary on tv about people living with severe burns. It did impress! (maybe a bit too much though) How cool that someone from the fire dept. will come speak to him! And like Solwaykid I'm curious too! :rotfl:
My achievement:
I didn't go to dancing lessons, as I just couldn't cope tonight. Too tired, too much to do.. back at work today after 3 weeks holz.. pfff I'm beat.
hoovered the high traffic area
mopped the floor in LR and kitchen
S&S kitchen
cleaned the loo
Ironed shirt I want to wear to work tomorrow.
that's IT.
Not doing anymore.

online shop - meal plan, shop list & order (hoping to order enough for 2 weeks)
That seems to be me for tonight heading for the bath and an early night.
Not managed the full list for today, as we have been out for most of it but at least the room is tidied, polished and hoovered.
Now about to order a shop to hopefully be delivered tomorrow ( may have left it too late but hopefully not) I have sorted out most meals for the next two weeks and have what seems like a huge shop list but I'm sure it's not - don't normally do a fortnights shop at once but trying to really stick to the budget this month.
Jill - hopefully you won't have much longer to wait, my midwife always went by the rule that a baby would appear at the most awkward moment possible.
lil_me - sorry to hear about fire incicdent this afternoon, well done with getting someone fromthe fire dept to come out hopefully hearing the dangers from someone else will mean it sinks in better.
