Best thing you can do is clear the balance and the trailing interest you may get and leave it for a couple of months then check your report again.Littlewoods £0/£750

I know someone with an Argos card and a previous Cap1 and their report shows green ticks, month after month, even with a 0 balance. Then it shows as settled when closed down.

Thanks for your answers, I guess I'll find out for myself and see what happens once the balance is cleared.0

Surely even if they don't report green ticks then they still won't be reporting anything negative. Why the obsession with green ticks?0

The green monthly ticks all help towards building a credit history (which I am doing) so if no green ticks which say you have paid on time that month then no building a credit history, which isn't helpful for someone with hardly any at the moment.0

Some lenders will report an account as up to date, and others will report it as dormant or unused that month.0

My mother has a credit card account with Santander that was opened as part of her account switching - she is 76 years old and has never in her life used a credit card and isn't about to start now - this card reports as green every month on her credit report and has done so for many years now.0
