If you have a smartphone you could download a suitable app for it.0 -
Record call by using a digital voice recorder plugged into your phone line, use a double adapter. I use an Olympus recorder which cost about £30. Up to you if you inform them call is being recorded, they record you, you record them.
I record all calls now, too many people telling me garbage and then denying it.
Or if you use a mobile there are free apps for call recorders available.0 -
Thank you
think my smartphone has a voice recorder on it so I could use that if I put the landline on speaker phone?

There is no point in speaking to a Supervisor or asking to speak to a manager ...Sent an E-Mail to 10 Downing Street via the on line form .First you will get a automated response then a reply stating that your complaint has been forwarded to the relevant department ....Then the sparks will fly
Believe me it works that way you don't end up speaking to someone who will defend the actions of the department in question0 -
Very sorry you have been given some of the replies you have on here. You have, I am afraid, caught the attention of a couple of unhelpful posters. Please don't take it personally.
I would suggest writing, not telephoning, its best to set up a
paper trail. No need to record a letter as it obviously comes with (if you see what I mean).
Ask for a new appointment, you could point out that your mother is vulnerable and will need someone attending to support her so if there is a need to cancel 24 hours notice is necessary.
MP support can be very useful, and is worth a try.0 -

I think the above unhelpfulness may refer to me, sorry not personal.
What i was struggling to understand is what you would like the MP, DSS or PM office to do for you. I think if the aim is to ensure it doesnt happen again the above seems sensible asking for 24hr notice, i would think the best way to do would be to speak directly to the people who made the appointment for you rather than escelating just yet... polite, charming and assertive i think gets best results, people i find dont respond well to threats.
There seems to be a lot of advisors suggesting to kick up as much fuss as possible without any thought to what success, for you, looks like.0 -
Without Fuss there will never be any progress made, With fuss and taking the issue out of the department directly people who matter will be made aware of the situation...Keeping the issue in the same department will only ensure the issue is swept under the carpet ,...As always and no changes or improvements will be made0

Progress towards what exactly?
People who matter? Matter to what and who?
What change/improvement is it that the op would like? And are they realistic?0 -

My mum has applied for PIP she is disabled and doesn't like being going out much espeically to new places so it was arraged that she had someone visit her. They were meant to visit at 9.00 this morning so my dad had the morning off work (he is a self-emplyed driving instructor so time off = no money) so he could be with her as she is anxious around new people.
Anyway they didn't show. Mum phoned the PIP helpline who told her to phone back Monday because they don't have any more appoitnments and they can't contact the person that is meant to be coming out to her!!
Mum had about 3 letters all saying to make sure she is in on the 02.09.2015 at 9.00AM as they would be coming over and not to go out as the appointment mustn't be missed and now this happens!!
I'm quite angry and mum is upset about it, had this happened to anyone else and does anyone know what to do? The people you speak to at the PIP place arn't always the nicest or helpful!!
To all the people jumping up and down. Never had an emergency come up?
nope,out with the pitchforks............0
