  • Well it has been a day of extremes for people today hasn't it?
Ally huge congratulations on the job offer - that is fabulous news :T
Bob so sorry to hear about your rubbish day. I hope that the leak is sorted very soon indeed.
greensalad Sorry to hear what has happened with your budgeting - I wish I had some wise words...

First day with kids went well. I am a secondary school teacher, so I teach 11-16 year olds. I would be absolutely no good with younger kids at all... Two more to go then the weekend! Then straight home and out to football training with DS - where it rained the whole hour, so I got home and into a nice hot shower and now can finally relax with my pre prepared, batch cooked dinners...

    [STRIKE]:) check banking
    :) reconcile YNAB
    :) childcare and work
    :) Aim for a NSD
:) DS to football training tonight[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:) Packed lunches for me and the kids[/STRIKE]
:) Get an early night because I will be tired.

Yes, DS was back to today and I thought how handsome he looked too - he looks so grown up and is turning into a lovely young man - can't quite believe he's in his 2nd year at senior school it's racing by far too quickly for my liking

I'm being nosey now (again) - what are "Bounts" ?

Hope you're having a good day!
My niece started secondary school today and looked so grown up, it scared me silly! my two are in years 5 & 3 so I have a little while yet.

Bounts is an app that I'd seen recommended by the Make £10 a day thread on mse. I don't know a lot about it yet as I haven't used it for long but this is the info I got from that thread, http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=68686162&postcount=4 Bounts - a walking/running/keep fit app - earn vouchers for doing what you do every day ( or make 10, 000 steps, if you don't already to earn.) Also has spin the wheel for chance to win free vouchers.
My fitbit watch thing is linked to it and so long as I reach 7000 steps I get points which can be used to claim gift cards. HTH

How has this happened. I am just so lost for words. How can I be down over £200.

Most banks have 24-hour telephone banking. Call and ask them to read out all of your most recent transactions. Then ask them for help sorting out your issue. If you don't understand ask them to go through it again. It's their job to explain.

If you don't know your bank's phone number look on the back of your debit card, there's nearly always a number on the back of there which puts you through to Lost and Stolen cards. Ring that and they will put you through to Telephone Banking.

Oh how awful. Try not to fret too much. I think we've all been there at some point. It used to happen to me due to delays in card payments going out and thinking I had paid them. I'm sure your figure it all out. I'd speak to the bank and stop any charges happening and also barcylcard if your going to have a late payment. Its important to take control in these situations rather than letting them stress you out and get you in more debt. If your new to YNAB maybe have a simple paper version aswell until you completely understand it?

    Bob
What a day you've had. Fingers crossed for a better one tomorrow and hopefully the landlord gets the issue resolved now.

    Ally
Great news re the job offer. Now you have something and carry on your job mission knowing there's a backup

Well I didn't manage to set up the wardrobe, broke the drill bit I needed for the job in the wall :-| Also the fittings aint as good as I thought so ill have to pick up two sets tomorrow. At least ive still got the poles for free.

Chicken stew was lovely and had enough leftover for a portion to go child-minders tomorrow and some for my tea tomorrow, so nice easy meal after a hard days work to look forward too. I would of liked to converted it into a pie but don't have all the ingredients in for pastry!

Friend came round during the day and took our little ones to the park for a little bit. So free socialising for both us and the children.

Not much else has happened, so brew, quick tidy up and bed for me. Night all
