OK mid range tyres?

I'm going to be changing to different size wheels soon and dont want to spend £100 on a tyre on the current alloys, are there any decent mid range brand that is value for money? how do barum/avon fare?

    Barum tyres are pretty good.

    Remember Bata shoes?

Lower cost because of cheaper labour costs in the Czech Republic.

They benefit from partnership with Continental in modernizing the factories and production but don't have the very latest state of the art / cutting edge of technology in the tyre rubber and tread patterns.

So very good value for money.

Look out for Primewell, they are a division of Bridgestone and are classed as a budget tyre, i have the sport 910 on my car and they have been excellent, they have good EU tyre ratings too which are comparable to some of the most expensive tyres sold

No, they aren't. They're one of the Fiti group's brands, along with Runway, GreatWall and several we don't often see here. Based in Singapore, the group does almost all of their manufacturing and R&D in China.

I'd avoid them like the plague, together with all the rest of the cheap and nasty AliBaba-by-the-container rubbish.

Why would Bridgestone even be mentioned on their website (legal notice and privacy) and also have be the owner of the website if they do not have anything to do with them? (genuine question as I was told this information from Camskill when i ordered the tyres)

    Bridgestone RETAIL, US.

So they're probably distributed in the US by a company called "Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC". No more, no less than that.

Here in the UK, they're not distributed by Bridgestone. Their truck tyres are exclusively sold by ATS - who are owned by Michelin - but their car tyres are wholesaled widely, through a Giti subsidiary based in Cheshire and in Germany.
  • Uniroyal Rainsport are fantastic for the money, avoid Kaiser Kenda, ok when dry but crap in the wet but they're lasting ages so stuck with them, bought car 3 years ago with them on the front, done 15,000 miles and still like bloody new!

If they're that bad, bin 'em. A pair of new tyres is a lot cheaper than your insurance excess...
