Evening all, not had time to catch up on the days thread, will do tomorrow. Finally got myself to the drs this evening after having next to no voice and a sore throat for two weeks and am now on a weeks course of antibiotics. DH is still not 100% either so its an early night for us all I think.
Hope everyone's doing ok.

determind & ccl thanks for getting us started.
We had a very poor nights sleep mainly due to dd joining us and not being settle, as he couldn't sleep OH got up an hour early for work at 4 am. Dd is evidently coming down with something as one minute she is in tears about the smallest thing the next everything is extremely funny, one of the few times she wasn't crying or laughing was when we were doing lessons, where for once she actually seemed focused.
Looking back over today I feel we have been flying dfw flag, my only spends were the window cleaner, which we have budgeted for. All in all I'm tired but happy. I'm going to go now and read today's thread.

Ratison - We had a new bathroom last year. We used 'Homebase' because they'd previously done our new kitchen & everything had gone very smoothly with that. The quote for our new bathroom was £4,800 on the understanding that it may cost more if bad stuff was uncovered once they'd removed the tiles & taken up the floor covering. It turned out that there were 2 layers of tiles on the walls & so much of the plaster came off with them that the walls needed totally re-plasterboarding before tiling could commence. That added £400. What did we have done? New bathroom suite with mixer taps, ceramic floor tiles, white tiles on walls, basin plumbing moved to opposite side of room, heated towel radiator & new shaving point plus electrics, nice mirrored wall cabinet fitted, & the quote also included the refitting of our curtain rail, mirror & hand towel hook. I think having so much tiling work done was expensive, but we deliberately chose tiles which are unlikely to date. Price included a skip, so I did manage to get rid of a few large rubbish items too, while it was sitting on our drive. The work took 5 days. We didn't have any work done to the ceiling, which we just painted ourselves, or lighting, as we kept what we had, just cleaned it up.
Hope this is at least a little bit helpful,
