Today has been a good one £25 in total, £20 for old dressing table, £3 from pine one and £2 refund for misdelivery!

Yep, a very good day! Well done mumstheword:T

    A big welcome to Procrastinater:beer:
  • Hi and thank you for the welcome Aesop

It sounds like you guys have got some big stuff going on especially the likes of Surfchik80 - big thumbs up for you and you daughter at this tough time.

So far I have managed £46.15 profit on a couple of ebay sales - thats much of the big stuff gone. I took advantage of the free £10 Amazon voucher and bought a couple of early xmas presents and £1.00 road kill under the washing machine!!

I have done a couple of surveys but have been very busy with work and I am expecting to claim £35 cash back on my car insurance when that pays so am banking a bit for my future totals.

Well done to all of you that are motoring along and thanks for the motivation and inspiration.

    Hello,

I'm a newbie to this challenge, would love to join in :)

I will be ambitious and aim for the £10 a day. I declare a total of £85 to date. This was made up:
    - £35 from doing a shift at my 2nd job on Sat
    - £20 from doing 2 hours overtime on my 1st job on Sat
    - £30 from doing 3 hours overtime on my 1st job yesterday
    Extra Payment Every Week 2016 = £40.91

    1% Challenge = 1% / 100%
    Swagbucks 2016 = £74 Amazon Vouchers

Thanks for the Amazon giftcard link, Aesop. Not even going to check whether I've got the offer or not as money this month is going to be horribly tight so I can't afford to buy anything at all that isn't in my budget:mad:. Not sure if it's a one-time only offer as I did it when Lynne first mentioned it but ever since I've got the message that I'm not eligible for it:(

Have bids on 5 of the 11 bits I listed on eBay to finish Sunday (only maiden bids but it's a start) and the others have a watcher each. Luckily some more clutter will be gone by early next week:j even though I'm not going to make much out of it. Will probably have to spend the proceeds on groceries anyway:(. This is going to be a long and penny-pinching month as I need to fork out for some new specs.

where are you getting specs from?

I thought Specsavers or Boots, anywhere with a good offer on and I want 2 pairs. My prescription has changed a lot since my last test yonks ago and the 'off the peg' ones I've been buying from poundshops and so on haven't been doing me much good. I've had a lot of headaches especially after being online or reading.:o. Will be looking for cashback, loyalty points, anything that makes the outlay less painful. I'm only going for basic frames, I'm not fussed about impressing anybody:rotfl:

I've already had the eye-test and have my prescription so can go anywhere. I know there are places where you can just buy them online and that's probably the cheapest way but I like to try them on first. They never seem to fit me right and always have to be adjusted and fiddled about with at the opticians anyway.

    Any advice to offer?
  • I stopped going to Specsavers because of the horrendous customer service I experienced, but their prices/deals are pretty good. My best friend likes Boots, which gives you advantage card points and is good value for money. I currently go to Vision Express, which is cheap for me (only get one pair though) and you can get nectar points. I got a pair of frames from their cheapest range and I'm very happy with both the style and quality. I definitely recommend Vision Express, but would probably go to Boots if it wasn't 25 miles away — especially as I have an advantage card and no nectar card!
