I have been a bad, bad girl. I killed time yesterday in three department stores and came back with even more samples. Though I did manage to avoid the almost overwhelming urge to buy the new Louboutin nail polish, whose bottles were stunningly gorgeous.

You'd think I'd be beyond making errors at my age, wouldn't you? It was belting down with rain when I went out last night, got drenched walking the 20 yards from the back door to the taxi, consequently my newly washed hair (see above) promptly frizzed. I used a big dollop of Argan oil to sleek it before bed.
Too big, it turns out, hair was like I'd dipped it in the chip pan this morning. I normally wash my hair every third day these days as it just never needs it.
I used the other Garnier shampoo I was sent to trial to wash it this time...

I admire the discipline of you all. I have been panicking about doing a PP list as I feel so over faced with everything that I have opened that I don't know where to start. Anyway so I have decided to make a PP list of the things that I need to use up that I am not going to buy again or things that I will buy again but not in the very near future or the little bottles with some still left in that I have from going away. So here it is -
    Philosophy berry Christmas shower gel
    L'Occitane spring cherry shower gel
L'Occitane delice de fruits shower gel
    Dr Organics breast firming cream
Faith in nature revitalising body lotion
    Nude facial oil
Liz Earle superbalm (haven't been finishing this because of worrying about what to use instead but am hoping Lush balm will be good)
    Balance active formula serum

    And that's it for now
  • Another UU here Extracts Blackberry & Fig Shower gel, I think that's all the splutters done now...still 34 shower gels left but they all fit in a small Lush Hatbox so I don't feel so bad.
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • Hi ladies,
I'm in again. I missed August as life is hectic at the moment, and September looks like it's going to be worse, but I'll try and post when I can.
    I hope everyone is well.

    UU to start September with:

Malin and Goetz grapefruit cleanser 10ml. This was nicely scented, probably would buy it again if I saw it as a freebie again.

Boots extracts cocoa butter body wash 75ml. This is my least favourite body wash in the range. A few more of these minis to use up in various scents. They are handy for travelling with work.

    1 IN:
Freebie aromatherapy shower gel mini pilfered from a hotel I stayed in on Monday.

Getting pretty low on shower gel, might have to buy some before the end of the year, which is a massive achievement from the stash I had. :A
  • Life is a bit mad presently but updating here with a Sept PP list...

#1 Garnier Fructis shampoo (Actually DD's, but like many young ladies she seems convinced the last 1/2 doesn't work!)
#2 Various bits of soap (french market, dove shea butter, Lush something or other, lost packaging)
#3 Naked 'rose with no clothes' shimmering body cream
    # 4 Garnier vital restore night cream
#5 Superdrug natural high day cream
#6 Essence pure mineral powder foundation
    #
7 IsaDora high wear defining mascara
    #8 Paco Rabanne Black XS

not quite 10 but all I think I can actually finish this month.

First UU, a hand made coconut bath bomb bought for me in Wales. No packaging or branding - lovely and moisturizing. I decided to use bath bombs up soon as I can after they are gifted - last year someone bought me tons of Lush ones, and by the time I dug them out to use the scent had disappeared!
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • Morning all
Two UUs to declare, my lush snow fairy has run out! EEEKK!KK howling till Christmas I need a fix, I do have a bar of snow fairy soap to sniff when things get tough but won't us at till November when I know I can replace my stash. HG just because I Lurve the scent.
A tube of shampoo I picked up in a spa break last year, the tube looked quite big for a hotel freebie but once opened it only contained enough for one hair wash, in fairness to the product mine is below shoulder length and very thick!
Going to get roots done today.
For those who were interested when I mentioned Ds2 he's still going to the private podiatrist I found each fortnight and it's looking worlds better than it did, guy said he thought it would only need a couple of treatments so quoted £15 and alought he's been at least four times guy still won't charge him any more. He still hasn't had his referral letter from nhs in all this time, but hopefully it should be all done and dusted and when it does come I can cancel it so someone else can have the place.
Might try and find time to paint my nails later.

    Have a good day all

  • Some early UU for the month

    - Weleda Relaxing Body Oil
    - Jergens skin firming body lotion
    - Anatomicals wake up hair and body wash
    - Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Cleanser
    - Soft and Gentle wild rose and vanilla antiperspirant

The body oil and antiperspirant I WBA.

    I will replace these with

    - A lavender body lotion I brought home from a visit to Grayshot spa some years ago - doesn't seem to have gone off
    - A large travel size Clarins body lotion that is over half empty from a previous holiday
    - A travel size L'occitane shea butter shower gel, also over half empty from weekends away this year
    - A sample size REN global calm cleanser
    - Clarins Eau ressourcante deodorant - not far off empty.

These should also get UU this month. It's a good feeling to get rid of lots of part used items. I feel like they are the most vulnerable to going off and it quickly frees up storage space.

Re the snail hand lotion that you asked about Babafete, I've realised it does have a smell, it's just it's subtle compared to my foot lotion that I also apply first at night so I hadn't noticed. It's actually a light citrus scent - very pleasant, but doesn't shout like some of my hand creams.

I have some ins to report which might sound a bit odd given my earlier post about feeling more in control - they were quite planned though.

    From Boots:

    - Olay razor blades (I am using the last one I had)
    - 3 x sensodyne toothpaste (I do have some non sensitive toothpaste but my teeth have suddenly gone sensitive this week so thought I should grab these whilst on special offer)
    - Soft and Gentle antiperspirant x 2 - one to replace the wild rose and vanilla I just UU and an orange blossom and grapefruit. These complement perfumes I wear as well as doing the job with sweat, and they were on special offer.

I managed to resist special offers on other toiletries that i knew I had no need of which I was pleased about. It used to be I couldn't leave boots without a ton of shower gel and body lotion, but the fact they are full of chemical nasties puts me off as does the vision of my stash at home. I do know the antiperspirants I bought are bound to be full of chemicals, but it's impossible to find a natural antiperspirant, and sometimes just deodorant isn't enough.

I also went to Aveda. I'd been disappointed to realise recently that I had missed a message some time ago from them that if I didn't use my pure privilege card then my points would expire without value - had saved up quite a few over the years. I had tried without success by email to convince them to give me back. I was half minded not to use them again as a result - but on reflection this would be cutting off my nose to spite my face - they're easily the best source of more natural styling products and their hair care range in general is pretty good. Anyway, when I told the SA about the points I'd lost she managed to award me rather more than I'd earned through spending on the new pure privilege account I set up so I felt quite mollified by that.

    I bought

    - Be Curly Curl Enhancer - this is a HG, I use when I am letting my hair dry naturally to enhance the curl and reduce frizz. Current tube is almost empty.
    - Madder root conditioner - I UU my tube of this a few weeks ago, still have lots of shampoo. My colour seems to be fading badly at the moment and this helps to enhance it in between going to the hairdresser to get dyed. I've got through a number of these over the years.
    - Smooth infusion naturally straight. This is new, will use when blow-drying my hair before using the straightening irons in the hope I won't need to use the irons for as long.
    - Travel size co-wash for curly hair. I didn't want to commit to a full bottle as some shampoos irritate my scalp and I've never tried co-wash before.

With the pure privilege account I got a travel size of stress fix body lotion and two travel sizes of the naturally straight - will take the latter on holiday with me next week. These (plus the fabric tote bag) are worth more than the £10 joining fee for pure privilege and as it's my birthday later this month I should get a birthday present from them too, which used to be something worth around £20.
  • Another UU

EPSA Detoxifying Salt Scrub. I was given this as a present and it leaves my skin incredibly well moisturised and soft as well as smelling divine when you use. It is pretty pricey but they use lots of naturals in their products, unlike the Sanctuary who have Paraffinum liquidum as the second ingredient on their list in their scrub. I know that it's supposedly safe, but if there is an acceptable natural alternative I would prefer to use that. It's more expensive than the REN guerande scrub which I also love, it's a lot larger so might work out cheaper per use.

I might buy again when I've finished up other scrubs, but I bought some cheap exfoliating gloves in Boots yesterday and I might try the budget option of using them with shower gel instead of buying more scrub - will have to see how the results compare.
