yes she has, and yes my inspiration for the saying0 -
I use about 4 small ones for an evening. When I was in a flat with economy 7 white meeter heating i used about 20 LOL. It certainly does increase the heat. I got about 200 in a bag in Ikea for a couple of pounds so it's pretty cheap. I suppose though it depends on where you get the tea lights from?
My sitting room is pretty big so I'm not sure candles make it warmer but they do make it look cosy. I have a big bag of Ikea tealights but for some reason I'm always left with a ring of wax around the rim of the metal cup. Anyone else had that? Maybe I should try to exchange them;.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Confuzzled, I think that's cute about making the penguins cry!
And it's a good way to teach young children that what we do has an effect on the planet and the other species we share it with.

I had some Ikea ones and also some Asda. The Asda ones didnt last as long but they were cheaper.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I put a night light in a tin in the shed to keep the chill off the guinea pigs in the depth of winter and I always freeze them first as it makes candles last longer. I melt all the leftover bits of wax in a tin over a pan of water and make new rough candles out of it. Wick is very cheap and they are simple to make.Clearing the junk to travel light

Try your local chemist, I got ours from there.
Most chemists tend to stock lots of different items these days, my daughter loves going in just for the hair scrunchies etc (she is only 11).0 -

Wilkos do some really nice quality ones - they are really thick ribbed rubber and hold their heat for hours.:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Just wondering, do the microwavable wheat bags contain wheat grains or is the wheat processed somehow?
Edit: the reason I ask is cos I want to make my own and I found wheat grains in the food co-op.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

Do tea lights add much to the warmth of a room? I guess they would! could put a load in my mantal piece, use up some of my jam jar stash.. oooh project lol
If it doesn't work it will 'feel' cosey at least
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but if you keep your candles in the fridge before using them, they last longer!;)0
