I 2nd M & S for the thermals, nice and warm, primark ones aren't bad around £5 each if I remember correctly, and http://www.britishthermals.com/index.php are not a bad price either.
Also read that asda and tesco sell them but neither near me so never looked.
After having read for years about Mardatha's sock knitting and seeing a pair of knitted socks I'm going to try to knit a pair
If it works then I the men in my family are getting socks for the big C.
I will use Mardathas sock pattern then if I get really stuck you'll now what I'm talking about when I shout HELP
Will start after window quilts.
Might go back to work for a rest!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

I used to buy thermals from Damart http://www.damart.co.uk/. They were always good quality. Haven't bought any recently, but stuff we bought from them 20 years or more ago is still fine!0

Oh Csarina, I was just going to say "what about knitting them?!" DH, DS and I all have loads of knitted ones, and they're SOooo toasty warm! Love those yarns that produce stripes and patterns.Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0
