Which reminds me - does anyone know where I might get a cheap SAD light? Or equiv.
I get pretty down in the long dark winters.
You can buy full spectrum light bulbs they look the same as energy savers...

They are a good company to buy from, just put one in a table lamp, they emit full spectrum light that is equal to daylight. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -

Me too, but mine stay in the hallway as there is enough space. Occasionally, I'll use the tumble dryer though. The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
..and I'm trying to remember that little verse about the different newspapers. It goes something along the lines of;
"The Times" - is bought by those who run the country? You dont run the country but methinks you'd like to.
"The Morning Star" - those who think someone else should be running the country You could agree with that one
"The Sun" - they dont care who runs the country, as long as she has Big **** You care who runs the country and AFAIK you don't do big ****
"The Daily Mail" - the wives of those who OWN the country....your single so not a DM wife
etc etc...
...and no I'm not admitting which paper I major in.....
Just a bit of fun. I guess the telegraph or the timesLife is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -

& because it's so high up the clothes are not only out of the way but dry beautifully :T I also have an A-frame drier that straddles the stairs as I'm fortunate to have a decorative rail on the wall side & landing on the other. Mind, with four adults the concertina styled one in the kitchen is also very well used and I have a spare plus those sock hangers too

I think The Sun is now owned/run by ardent conservatives. Which is about the only conservative thing about The Sun.

Regards stocking up. I do this as a matter of course when i have the funds to do so. I buy when goods are at rock bottom prices, use all the offers going and clearance food websites too. I think i could keep us going for quite a wee while on what i have stored...in fact, since we are about to become even poorer financially, it's a jolly good job i have this stockpiling thing going on!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Poundland & a 99p shop I was in today, have packs of thermal socks, I think the mens, were 3 pairs in the packs, fleecy hats, scarves & gloves, also in the camping section there's all sorts of goodies that could be put in a winter survival box. It may be worth taking a look around.
Microwave wheat bags & hand warmers are good to make, they can safely be used for young children if too young for hot water bottles.0 -

I got mine from an ebay private seller. It was this one brand new in box.

Seller's mother had tried it once and couldn't be bothered to sit still in front of it. I won it for £25. Bargain! it looks quite stylish too.
Summer is the time to look on ebay, before Autumn arrives, when everyone will get the same idea!!0
