Grumswifie, my youngest son was born on 1st Jan. Never had a party in his life until he left home.. LOL!
I got fedup waiting because he was two weeks late and hit the punch. I think my breath almost knocked the doctor out... but he arrived in half an hour !

Did he not get a party because of Hogmany (sp?) or was it to punish him for being late? (only joking)

OH birthday is on 1st Jan and 58 years later we had a grandson on the same day!

Since our children have grown we have a very quiet Christmas and then a Birthday Party for two with all family including OH's mother!

That's great, I'll have to have a look in Wilkos to see if I can get some. :) Right, today's preparations for winter have been:

Going through all my fleeces to check their condition and,
sewing up little holes and tears
Repairing DH's motorbike leathers (I'll have to waterproof both of sets soon too)

That's it for so far today. :D On one of the warmest days of the year, and I've managed to get two loads of washing dried on the washing line this morning. I've got the net curtains washed today too, so I'll not have to wash those before winter again. Might wash the windows later this week.

    KB xx

Brrrr, not up here it isn`t. Downright chilly wind and that soft mizzly rain which soaks through in no time here. Autumn`s here by the feel of it.

Can you send some of your rain to south east london please:D

It must be over a month now since I had any and last time was only a little drizzle over night:(
Can't sleep at night south facing bedroom cooks at over 20c in spite of thermal blinds down all day and daytime temps of 90c are too hot for day to day living, but wonderful if I were on a Caribbean beach for the winter :D

I'll swap you, 1/2 days heat and sun and a months worth of sweeties for 1/2 day of cloud cover, cooling winds and rain:D
  • It's absolutely bucketing down here in Belfast!! I've got a fleecey blanky over me on the sofa and have my notebook and pen at the ready to do my list for sorting things out for the winter. I've batch baked some casseroles and the smell keeps wafting in from the kitchen and putting me off!! In my mind Summer is already over, roll on September!!
