I have it saved on a pdf, but just had a hunt and try these -

I think the top one is the pattern I use, it has the foot knitted in two parts, the top and the sole. Then you join them in a seam that goes around the side of the foot. My husband loves them, but I dont do them jsut as long as in that pattern. You can use single strand wool and then when it comes time to knit the sole part, add in a strand of alpaca then. It gives a cushioned toasty hot sole. Or soul. LOL!

my birthday is at the beginning of jan, horrid time of year to have it I have to say. I have been reading this thread, and I am a winter baby and hate summer. Have very pale skin, burns in no time at all, always get hot and flushed and feel horrid wearing even short sleeved tops. Give me a fleece and a blanket anyday!

Thanks for the sock patterns, they will be sooo toasty.

Am off to Mums to check on how she is doing and must sort out winter with her, will take her to lidl as its only over the road and stock her up on tinned stuff as her freezer is tiny. We didnt see her when it was icy this year as its too far but she did very well, mind you at 84 she has had plenty of practice!
