We had a slight spitting of snow when I went out this morning but it melted when it hit the ground and most ppl wouldnt have thought it was snow. I am hoping we dont get any as I have a book club on Wednesday in town along with a booked manicure (with voucher that runs out soon) that I had to call off last month due to snow...What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Last winter's bill was £100 and this one was £60. I think my neighbours heard me cheering. Now for the leccy bill which I know will be higher than last year as I'm home all day now and last year I was working full-time
Thats really good.I have been leaving my heat off as much as poss and thought my £160 bill was quite good my oh is my down fall he sits in a t shirt then turns the heat up instead of putting on a extra layer :mad:only does it when i'm at work and thinks he can get away with it0 -

oh dear hon, not again! Cuddle up tight to your hubby and keep warm. None up this way yet, hoping it's gonna miss us this time as it's only forcast for east coast, and I'm up on the west, but they're not always right as we know...0 -
We didnt get much but might get more, he says the forecast is for Thurs. I like snow, I dont mind it at all really, because on snowy days and cold days the sun sometimes shines. It's these cold dull grey days where the sky is just above the roofs that I hate .. we got the odd sunny spell today. The worst thing is that we can see brighter skies north and south of us, but because we're in the hills we always have cloud on top of us.
Maybe its a karma thing. Maybe I was really REALLY bad in a past life. I just wish I could remember it ...0 -
Hi all, I have been working hard in cutting down the electric this month and is is beginning to show on the bills a little so will keep working on it.
This month I have bought a new Philips enery efficient kettle and given out big warnings about not putting to much water in.
I have also managed to get from ebay a pair of thermal lined curtains for the large kitchen window. 54" length and 54" width. This window has never had curtains fitted all the time we have been in this house.
Will keep snapping off and lights left on, usually bedrooms and stairs.
I have also made another small purchase of an eco button for this computer and am finding the visual reminder very helpfull. Look on https://www.ecobutton.co.uk to see it. The eco button gets used by everyone and is a small reminder to turn the computer on standby when you walk away. You can also do this through the computer but as I said this button is a visual reminder. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
Am just shivering a little here in Manchester but the sun is shining on us today which makes it feel warmer. Am having a massive declutter today as workmen arrive 8 am Monday to put double glazing in. I am so happy as our house is very draughty and I can visualise 10 pound notes slipping through the gaps! But no more of that. Small problem though can't work out how the heck they are going to get in here as we are very overcrowded as Dd brought half a house with her when she moved home for a year and my new craft room ended up piled in my bedroom. Ok don't care am being positive cos the money we will save on fuel will pay for, ooh a cruise? week in Paris? day in Morecambe? - that will do me.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
