Might be needing all the tips here earlier than I thought :( Boiler has packed up and the HA repairs line says 5 working days - because when I logged it as emergency no-one told me I had to guarantee to be at home for at least 24 hours  If they'd told me then I'd have rung work and stayed in, but they didn't say anything like that at all - just said I should expect a phone call from the contractor

If like me you feel cold in bed and your OH does not like it as warm as you do then get yourself some Primark fleece pj's.

    :j :j :j :j :j They are fab:j :j :j:j :j

So warm and soft, kept me toasty all night, and they are only £5.

In the past I have even resorted to wearing tracksuit bottoms and a jumper!! to bed,... not a pretty sight!

They are so good I'm going to get myself more on my day off this week.

    Hope it helps someone.

    Hi all...

Okay, heating on and off since Sunday evening but with 2 littlies in the house now I'm not going to forego heat in place of a jumper as one is 3 months and the toddler kicks the covers clean off when he sleeps!

The tumble dryer has pretty much had it so instead of replacing it we're saving leccy and money by using the radiators to dry stuff until summer comes along again. mBought 4 raidator dryers for £4 in Argos yesterday...

Currently sitting in the living room with no lights on in the house anywhere, and two smelly candles on. How romantic! Aaaahhhhhhhhh :)

We've had the heating on a couple of times lately - mostly morning as its freezing here in south wales. Had a bargain yesterday though - the council did a clear out of the flat next door to mine and offred me her material blinds so i had 4 blinds for free and a clothes airer. So i now have the blinds up in my living room and i still have the old curtains up too so it feels nice and warm, no gaps for the cold now like there was around the curtains in the first place because they were out too far and barely fitted
    .
    Time to find me again

I used a tip of here and put one of my thinner bed throws (its a cheap thin bed spread that I got as a catalogue free gift) under my fitted sheet and it has made a huge difference. I have definatley been warmer in bed since doing this. Simple, yet genius. :T

cheap hot water bottles - i was looking for some earlier today so i can tell you about them!

Wilkos: didn't have any in stock but cost £2.49 or something like that.
B+M: £2.99 upwards, but came with a cover
poundshop: £1 (where i eventually got them from)
local chemist: £3.50 each, no cover (!)

so check your local poundshops.. the one i looked in was selling mini hotwaterbottles too, and covers (although i didn't much like em - they were all barbie pink!!)
