Hi,
Ive never posted on this thread before, so I hope you dont mind. I havent read through all the posts, but, ive seen a couple mentioning putting spare duvet under the sheet which you lie on? Does this give extra warmth?
The reason im asking is because I was thinking of buying an electric blanket, but, if doing this with the quilt is just the same, then I will just do that, also is it comfy lying on it? Jackie
Hi there, I've just done this and it's really comfy and nice and warm, though obviously the bed isn't warm when you get in like with an electric blanket, but you don't have to worry about fires with it either! Hi,
Well I put the duvet on my mattress then covered it with a mattress protector, and it was brilliant, so lovely and warm and comfy, DH said he had never had as good a nights sleep before.
Have done this with DS 1 bed, but, hes been staying with his friend the last couple of nights, so, wont know about how comfy and warm his bed is until tonight.
I dont know what to do about DS 2's bed, hes 3, and every now and again we get little bed wetting accidents, so he has a mattress that has a plastic cover on it, then I pout down one of those pampers bed mat things, then his sheet. I dont suppose theres anything I could do to make his bed warmer is there?

wish i could help - my sons 4 and still in nappies in the night! and not showing the slightest interest in night training eitherTime to find me again0 -
We actually had to turn the heat on yesterday. I didn't really want to, but the house was freezing and DS has been ill - his fingers were like ice. I couldn't really have him walking about the house in mittens! So we turned it on. Ours is on a timer, so we set it for morning (just before we get up), midday, and evening (just before bed for the little one) just to take the chill off things. Seems to be working well, and at least we're keeping the use down to a minimum. Now I need to get busy on getting some thicker curtains up and such.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

I have always had fleecey thermal underblankets (like sheepskin fitted sheets!) They go under the bed sheet and work a treat and wash and dry very quickly so perfect for little ones. They will dry outside in about half an hour!!:D You can buy them at dunelm mill for £3.99 for a single

Sorry, I have been away for a week so sorry for delay replying. I bought mine off Amazon, but I think you need to do some research to get the best price. Mine were from a company called Androv which is in Germany but there are companies over here so they should get to you a bit quicker. I had a couple of ones that blew within a few days and the company I used replaced them immediately plus gave me a free one!
ps have not seen candle ones, though they may well make them??
So far these ones have been great. HTHGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
